Re: FS - 2012 Grand Cherokee Overland - As Is/Needs Work
Yep, I found and read this article as well when this all unfolded. The gory details: Vehicle is my wife’s daily driver, plus the “family truckster” when we go on vacation, haul the dog around, etc, but it generally didn’t see a lot of miles and was never wheeled. First symptoms I noticed in the spri...

Re: FS - 2012 Grand Cherokee Overland - As Is/Needs Work
Hello, and thanks for the questions. It's a 5.7 lift gate, not drop No rot...the car has been garaged since we purchased it. Full disclosure on any other possible concerns: We replaced one of the air springs a few months ago - right rear, I believe There's a small tear in the backseat leather undern...

FS - 2012 Grand Cherokee Overland - As Is/Needs Work
Hello Jeepers! 2012 Cherokee Overland. Approximately 106k miles. Silver, tan leather interior, sunroof, etc…all the goodies. Location is SE MA on the 495 belt. This is a project car at this point: I’m told by two separate mechanics that the motor is history – flattened camshaft due to lifter failure...

Re: '03 Rubicon won't start
I owe a couple of folks some beers. Thank you. In the process of poking around with the voltmeter, I found that the connection to the starter (that I replaced) was loose. I think I need to fire my mechanic. Best part, as I crawled under the jeep, I managed to put my head into a pool of something tha...

Suggest a replacement tire?
Anyone care to offer suggestions on a replacement tire for the Michelins that we currently have on our 2012 Overland? The OEM tire has worn very poorly. Would prefer to find something that holds up a bit better. I run BFG on my pickup, and Goodyear on the TJ, both of which I like, but a quick search...

Re: My new and improved jeep
Looks good Brian.
What is the source of the front fenders? Is that your own fab, or did you buy?
I like the lens flare in the first picture. Makes it look like the Jeep was delivered by Angels.

Re: Evelyn Howe
Eve was a sweetheart of a person. I was part of her first BSJ run a couple of years back. We found out after a short conversation that we attended the same high school. I recall being up to my knees in mud at one point helping to change a tire that had failed and the group joking about how burned th...

Just saw a J10
Was at Gilette tonight getting dinner with the family and my 11 year old daughter noticed a "cruise night" going on and suggested we have a look. Was hoping to see more Jeep represented, but only saw a couple - a Cherokee and a sweet J10. Never seen one "in the flesh" before. Two...

Re: Critical Items for Trail Tool Kit
Sawzall! As a former house framer, that's an idea I like. Of course, I may need to use the Sawzall to make room somewhere in the jeep to carry it, but it's still a great idea. :=)

Critical Items for Trail Tool Kit
After the last run out, I'm thinking of re-evaluating what I'm carrying for tools. Was looking for suggestions from club members for "must have" tools. What do you think is critical that you carry? Currently I bring along a fairly basic Craftsman socket/wrench set augmented with some other...
