Re: Skid plates: Aluminum or Steel? MORE or Rock Hard?

I went with steel for a simple reason, cost. I went with 1/4" steel for all my skids just because I know they will hold up, and weight savings isn't much of an issue to me. The strength, durability and repair-ability is also worth it. When I went with skids, I got both my transfer case skid and...

Re: iPhone GPS App

Thanks, Dan. I think you may be referring to Gaia GPS. From what I have found, it and MotionX are probably the two most popular apps among off-roaders. There are a few others worth looking at as well, but those two stand out. The link you sent seems to be nothing but links to apps that, for the mos...

Re: iPhone GPS App

I just saw an ad for "GIA GPS", an iPhone app that allows tracking and routing in addition to downloading certain maps for offline use. I think this is the app YipJeep mentioned. It's 19.99 on the Apple Store and has an extra subscription available for purchase as well. The description als...

Re: U-Joint replacements

It should be a 1310 for the driveshaft ujoints. I don't recall what the axle joints are if you are intending on changing those out as well. I have yet to break a ujoint on trail, but I'd probably stick with spicer because of name brand.

I'd be up for wrench days when the warm weather season slows down for the year.

Re: More Skids ...

Don't forget, you may want to do diff fluids when you do the diff skids, especially noting the mileage of the jeep without a diff service. Not sure which axles you have, but look into Lube Lockers, they make removal and re-installation of the diff covers a breeze the next time you need to service th...

Welcome Richard!

I'm running an 05 Rubicon also with a 3" lift and aggressive tires. Your jeep will fit in nicely here!

We are hoping to add a teeter totter in the next year or so. Hoping to add a lot actually. :)
I like this one. Adds the throttle control, clutch control, and braking modulation while also allowing for success!

Easy to get hooked into wheeling for sure, thanks Cassandra!

Re: Superchip Programmer

Buy some pvc pipe and end caps, glue one end on the pipe, drill a hole on the other for a screw on valve stem, put all 4 or 5 sensors in it, then glue in the other end, pressurize to street pressure and done!

Re: Where did it begin for you?

I started in December 2008. Picked up a 2004 X. Having never driven a wrangler previously, I went for a test drive, and purchased it that night. Brought it home a few days later. https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/224704_506575047637_9785_n.jpg?oh=8c14ae13b59a7e3a6a0089e0812f2d94&oe=5...
