Re: FRS radio

I thought that all I needed was Privacy codes (a CTCSS codes and/or DCS codes) for the channels that we will be using. I can set them manually as long as I know what they are. Thanks! Mark provided the link to the thread where the frequencies were posted. I have a midland GXT1000. The first 3 chann...

Re: Knock in 4high: Diagnosis help

Trying to get a better understanding of diagnosing noises. Are the axle u-joints under stress when in 4wd versus 2wd? Curious why the noise would disappear when driving the Jeep in 2WD, but return when 4WD is engaged.

Re: New to Jeeps. Inspection Question

He has a new JKU Rocky Ridge customized Jeep on the lot that won't pass inspection and has no idea what he's going to do with it. Maybe a good deal for someone willing to either trailer it or make the necessary modifications to make it pass. Contact Mike Walsh if interested at (877) 245-6146. Tell ...

Re: Quick Shelf for Jeep Camping

Love the set-up. Your overland set-up has inspired me to start looking into a similar set-up so I can do some expeditions into Northern Maine and Vermont.

Great idea and you should pitch it. This creates quick storage area and additional shelves for prepping food.

Re: Jeep Beach Trip: Should I remove my carpeting?

To remove carpeting you will either need to unbolt some of the seat brackets to pull carpet out or cut carpet. I think you would spend about same time to vacuum. Do you have all weather mats? If so hopefully they will catch most of the sand.

Good to know. Surprised they can do spray cans at all, let alone while you wait.

Re: Bad Experience with 4WD

You can always buy the exact paint needed from a local auto parts store. The federated auto near me will mix a spray paint can while I wait. Exact color. Plus they beat dealer price.

Re: Recommended Dealership?

Glad to hear you found a shop to get this repaired. Chrysler didn't recall that year for the cylinder but they did extend the warranty for cylinder head. I had my 2012 cylinder head replaced about 2 years ago. Same misfire as yours.

Re: Skid plates: Aluminum or Steel? MORE or Rock Hard?

I had the Rock Hard aluminum oil pan/transmission and the transfer skids on my JKU. Both skids were put on in summer 2013. If you are planning on doing light wheeling then the aluminum skids are perfect. Eventually you get tired of light wheeling and want to play in the rocks and on ledges, so event...

Re: iPhone GPS App

Ralph, last year I sent an email to Gaia explaining how I was scouting roads in NH and was interested in their mapping app. I asked if they had a discount code available that i could use, a lady wrote back offering 5 free downloads so I could try their app and share with a couple others. Might be wo...
