Re: Jeep "friendly" inspection garages

Het everyone, Got some flat fenders since the last inspection and the local jeep dealer - after "promising" to get it done, did not... only a 2 1/2" lift but the front fenders leave about 2-3 inches of the tire exposed. Rear tires seem to be ok. Where do you all go that might not be ...

Re: Let’s talk skid plates

Rock Hard steel FTW. tough as nails and good company to deal with. Go to Barrett Fab or offroad elements for the best local pricing. At the time I got mine ORE beat 4wd by a wide margin for cost. I now prefer Barrett as I have wheeled a lot with Cody and Ricky... and their prices are very good. :)

Re: TJ rear tub cutting/ factory side steps

Dont worry. I have a d44 rear and soon d44 front. wait for someone else to confirm it, but unless the new D44 is BUILT go straight to a D60. 35s is the relative limit for a D44 and what you will put into a 44 to make it live with 37s or larger it will be much cheaper to do the first time in a D60. ...

Re: TJ rear tub cutting/ factory side steps

anyone know the safe limit of D30? I would not go over 37s without gussets and tubing the axle. may want a truss too. At that point it make sense to get a d60 or something like that. then start talking to The Kurt or Mark... ;)

Re: TJ rear tub cutting/ factory side steps

hope you have cromollys as I started breaking a lot of crap on 35s that was fine on smaller tires... even broke chromo on 35s at RC. I strongly recommend a set of RCVs as those are somewhat bullet proof.... D30 front still? got me curious what you are planning.... and if you are going one ton in fro...

Re: TJ rear tub cutting/ factory side steps

I recommend Body Armor side steps. When I wheeled hard and kept up with Kurt and Frank they held up to a lot of abuse. They mount under the body/tub and act as a slider and step. Protects the tub all the way from wheel well to wheel well. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49237523663_4ceede1668_c....

Re: New Member- Chris from NASHUA, NH

looks great! My only advice would be not to put any more money into the D35. A ford explorer 8.8 can get you disc breaks, 4:10 gears and much stronger axle shafts than the D35 can with the c-clips. The axle will be fine with 31s and light wheeling but even with 33s and moderate wheeling a D35 can br...

Re: Inspection stations in or around the Cape

anyone know if Offroad Elements does inspections? They are in that general neighborhood. Otherwise you might benefit from getting a cheap set of stock tires for inspection. This is public board and we don't want to get any shops in trouble for passing things that might not pass if the inspector is b...
