Re: Evelyn Howe

Sad to hear about Eve. She was a great person, I remember her first run! Had quite a few laughs on the trail with her!

Flopped = 90*.

Rolled in my mind is a 270*+.

Re: Diagnoses needed!

Tow truck came and seemed upset about towing me 83 miles from Athol to Rowley on a friday afternoon, in rush hour (on his last day as a tow trucker)! Diagnosis, huh? OK, I'll do the best I can Your tow truck driver was upset that he didn't call in sick on his last day, and he arrived at work regret...

Re: Diagnoses needed!

look at you oil see if it looks milky not milky on the dipstick . Got an oil change a month or 2 back (less than 800 miles ago) and it looks clean on the dipstick. Tomorrow i'll drain it and see what it looks like. Head gasket time. Do it soon before any liquid in the cylinders corrodes the ring pa...

Diagnoses needed!

On the way out to the campground yesterday, i overheated. I let it cool down, popped the cover and let the overflow reservoir stop boiling over the top. Added some fresh coolant, let it sit for about 30-40 minutes then tried to start it. No luck, seemed like the battery didn't have enough juice. A n...

Re: Timing Chain

I was talking to a guy whose buick (or pontiac, can't remember now) was making the exact same noise. He was told by his mechanic that it was the timing chain. Seems like a good bet to me. I had a nissan sentra that had to be junked because i couldn't afford to replace the timing chain, don't want th...

Timing Chain

How hard is this to do? Seems to be pretty straight forward according to the Hayne's guys, but i know it can be an expensive job to have a mechanic do for a $66 part. Is the extra $$$ just because of the disassembling/assembling of the front clip, radiator and water pump (which will also be replaced...

Re: Budget Boost time :) hydro or nitro?????

i had the skyjacker hydros on my rubicon for 2 seasons, and never had a problem. Its only a budget boost, you probably won't be wheeling hard enough to make it foamy.

I didn't mind the ride at all, thought it was softer than stock.

Re: Newbie...Again

Hey Jeff, Were you the one that arranged the Danvers meet and greet a few years back? Anyways, we have our spring meeting this weekend on the 20th at the Skellig in Waltham. Almost all of our runs have some kind of stocker-ish friendly trail. XJs and TJs on 30s-32s can do and have done every single ...
