I have a new pcm for my jeep and need the os upgraded and vin programmed into it. The local dealer wants to charge me an arm and a leg for a 10 minute job. If anyone knows a tech who would do it reasonably I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!!

Re: 6 speed rebuild
I have a tranny from my jeep, 2005 LJ, had somewhere around 55k when I took it out. 1-2 was a bit rough but everything else was fine. If you're interested let's talk.

Re: Cordless Drill / Impact Driver
DeWalt!! As a carpenter I've owned or used every major brand of cordless tools over the past 15 years. Milwaukee would be second. Dewalt has so many tools too. You could grab your 1/2" impact now and add on as you can. A few that could be handy would be drill, angle grinder, reciprocating saw, ...

Re: Steering shaft play.
If your shaft is the same as mine then there is actually a plastic pin that holds the two sections of the shaft together. Look near the junction of the two shafts, there should be a small white circle that you'll see on each side. This is a plastic pin that connects the shafts. It's designed to hold...

check your exhaust clearance too, sometimes a tc drop will move the exhaust just enough to let it bang into things when you go over bumps.

If the unit bearing is bad usually you can jack up that side, wiggle the tire, and feel it wobble.

Re: Building an AR10 .308
Anything is possible but if he has a m16 receiver he would not be trying to convert it to full auto as it would already be and I highly doubt someone would try to convert a $15,000 m16 to ar10 but I have heard of crazier.

Re: Building an AR10 .308
It's pre-ban so it's legal. It is caliber conversion maintaining the same lower which is a legal full auto lower so it follows all firearms laws and regulations both federal and state. I'm not going to argue but please research more before you do anything. Caliber conversion is perfectly fine but t...

Re: Building an AR10 .308
Any, I've never built one my buddy just bought a pre-ban AR15 and wanted me to help him convert it to a .308 Winchester full auto Not sure if you're being serious about this but I would advise you to research a lot more before doing anything. First, an ar-15 can't be converted to an ar-10. The phys...

Re: TJ Lift
I have 2.5" OME lift, 1 1/4" body lift, 33's fit fine, when I switched to 35's I had to change front fenders and trim rear fenders a bit to clear. Some think a huge lift is the only way to clear bigger tires but it can be done with a smaller lift and a bit more work. The belly clearance I ...

make sure the battery terminals aren't corroded and are tight on the battery. Try jumping the starter by connecting the two large posts to see if it spins.
