Re: New from Somerville

Massachusetts emissions requires that the year of the engine meet/exceed the year of the vehicle. Engine brand isn't mentioned in any MGL's I know of. Lotta ching though. Cool for braggn', but not necessarily trail performance. I was unable to find a reference for a Factory 6.7L Hemi, except for a ...

Re: New from Somerville

The 6.7L is the Cummins - the 6.4L is the latest Hemi offering (with a 7.0L possibly coming out soon). I'm still on the fence regarding the complexity and cost of a Hemi swap. I suppose if you wanted to stay Chryco powered it's cool, but IMO a GM LS series engine has greater power potential, in a s...

Re: AEV Brute Doublecab...

I really like that Gladiator they showed off a couple years ago, in the green . I would have gotten one. I heard they will have a model change in 2014 and thats when we will see the truck. I heard the new V-6 is better but I still wish for something else under the hood. My little Sport Trac is paid...

Re: New from Somerville

60's are definitely an upcoming project, front and rear. I'm hoping to get by on chrome moly axle shafts for the time being...as long as I quit doing sweet burnouts I should be alright :D. Plan is to run the supercharger for hopefully 2 years, then do a 6.7 Hemi swap, G238 6 speed tranny, and an Atl...

Re: Exhaust leak

Exhaust leak should be visible after running for a couple of hours. I have a bolt together exhaust from headers back, anywhere it leaked after I installed it had a bit of black soot coming from the leak.

Re: New from Somerville

Hmm, had no idea the back side was off limits I remember it being fairly well used and I know I didn't see any signage to indicate otherwise. I won't cross into a "posted" area, ever, wouldn't want someone to do it to me.... Oh well, good to know, in the future I'll stay off of it. Too bad...

No club, just out with a few buddies from NH that day.

Re: New from Somerville

Thanks Jake and unnamed fella with the XJ. Doug, it runs like a bat out of hell....for a 5000 pound shoe box :D It makes highway driving much more manageable, before I was rowing gears going up hills even with the slightest grade. Even when it was totally stock it was pretty rough, the 3.8 is highly...

I'll try agin in 2012

Hey all. Ended up opting to not join at the end of 2011, ultimately focused more on building my rig an wheeling it a bit in some of my local spots. Anyway, I noticed on your Facebook page there's a run this Sunday; any chance of being able to meet up, application in hand, and hit the trail with y'al...

Re: Regearing my Rubi

I got an aftermarket programmer by Superchips, it allows you to enter in the tire size you're running, accurate to a 1/10th of an inch, and any axel ratio between 0.00 and 10.00 in increments of .01. I haven't installed anything yet, but I'll update when I do.

Re: XJ lights.... grrrr.......

I'm a little late joining the discussion, so if you haven't found a solution, hopefully this will help. When troubleshooting an electrical problem, especially one that happens intermittently, it is important to check the points of contact. For your headlights, this will include the Switch, the Relay...

Re: New from Somerville

You guys are champs. Not only am I used to being able to BS, but I'm also used to not getting called on it! I'm thinking this club could be a healthy, educational experience. Most of my trail experience came in my old Toyota Tacoma out beating through the woods with a dog box on the back trying to f...

Regearing my Rubi

So I have a project tentatively scheduled for the end of October, but the truth is, it is definitely over my head. I am upgrading to 35" tires with my 3.5" lift, so I'm regearing to 4.88. I picked up the 4.88 ring and pinion set, and also got the rebuild kit for both front and rear. I real...

Re: New from Somerville

Thanks for the website, there was so good info on there. I figured if I aired down about 10 psi from the 35 I'll probably run highway it would improve traction a lot. Do people commonly air down to 10 psi without running beadlocks? Also, have you guys found that the foot print you leave vs. how much...
