Tow Rigs
Looking at a few options for tow rigs, one in particular I wanted to get an opinion on. Found an '04 1500 Z71 with fairly low milage, but I'm a hesitant thinking the 5.3 V8 wouldn't have enough guts to perform well on all the hills around here. Rig and trailer together I'm looking somewhere in the n...

Agreed. Dr Wheels is in the same boat, they're members of CCJC, and Mark is the former president. Don't think you'd go wrong either way.schwalby wrote:Keep in mind also that Lou, and Dom, are big supporters of our sport and I definitly think that is worth considering when shopping around.

As far as pricing goes, expect about $175 for a quality ring and pinion per. axle, and about $225 for a master rebuild kit, again, per axle. Those prices are fairly fixed...I haven't felt with Lou, but have heard good things, Dr Wheels is excellent and will stand behind their work

Furnish the parts, Dr Wheels in S. Yarmouth will do it for $900 labor. Forget about 4.56. Run either. 4.88 or 5.13.

Good luck on your surgery Frank!! The wheel wells on JK's are huge, 37's can fit with a properly centered axle with no body trimming. Nice looking JK man, love the new tires! One question though...how the heck do you get that thing inspected? I have trouble and my flares cover way more tire than tha...

New home for my JK!
I don't understand why you would pay to upgrade AND a premium on top. That's like paying to lease a 'Benz and driving a Hyundai. That building isn't worth it. The electrical that needs to be done would take a couple of hours to fix. It's basically just demo of some unsafe fixtures and adding a few ...

Re: New home for my JK!
Really disappointed. Got to see the inside of the unit and it's exactly what I'm looking for. Plenty of space to get around the rig on all sides and still have ample shop space next to it. Problem: the landlord isn't willing to have the electrical turned on. He says it's listed as not having electri...

New home for my JK!
After a year of wrenching in my driveway and lugging tools in and out of the basement, it looks like I've found some garage space! It's a single bay with a man door and shop space, basically the size of small two car garage. It also includes the parking space in front for a trailer. It has it's own ...

Re: JK Scrambler
I'm going to give it my best shot on replicating how they did the comp cut and tube fenders in the rear. The only thing I couldn't figure out is how they relocated the fuel filler. Turns out its at the lower part of the front of the driver's side rear wheel well. Gotta keep it outside the vehicle to...
