I've ran without one for over 5,000 miles. Plenty of highway use as well as on the crappy Boston streets, no problems here...in fact, lots of guys don't run them. Use Google, learn how to do a proper alignment.Little Napoleon wrote:Unless it is a trail rig only, would NOT ditch the steering stabilizer.

Re: Hard steering
Try removing the steering stabilizer (what John was thinking) and see if it alleviates the problem. If you're lined up good you shouldn't need one anyway, I haven't had one on my rig for months.

Picked up the trailer, gotta say the Ram pulls very nicely. Not as well as a diesel of course, but pretty comparable to the Vortech LS3 I ran in a few of my work trucks. Performs nicely on the on ramps and very solid accelerating from 55 to 75. Maintains 75 very nicely through hills, ect. http://img...

Re: Tow Rigs
A couple more fun things... After discussion about the deck and thinking on it some more last night, I ended up deciding to go with an 18' wood deck car hauler he has built already. Only a couple hundred more to go that route, and either one I get will be too long to fit in the garage anyway. Just m...

Definitely a concern...I don't know much about the buggy Yet in terms of wheel base but if I need to I'll make the fenders drive-over later on. It's going to be a tight fit running the 37x12.50's on a 3.5" backspace wheel. I'm at 79.5" with the 35x12.50's on a 4.5" backspace.

Yeah good call, I was planning on decking the center section myself, just have to weld in a few more cross braces. Its built with an extended tongue, already has a winch plate and plenty of room for a box also.

Just about have everything together. After looking around at a few dealers, I found a guy in Taunton who builds them. He's finishing up a 15 1/2' deck car hauler and will have it ready for me on Tuesday....at about $1500 cheaper than what the stealerships want. This one is an 18' deck, but it'll giv...

I'm not a big Hemi fan (test drove one), but she looks like a nice truck. Consider it on the other side of the coin in going retro with the tow rig: new. No issues or potential breakdowns in the middle of winter. It matches your rig too. Matching my rig was #1 concern  I was pretty impressed w...

Thanks for the input guys. The truck is going to be, for the most part, a daily driver so it makes sense to run the smaller 5.3 rather than a big diesel as long as its not a total dog when I pull my rig. Sounds like it will do fine. Joe I'm with you on the 6.2 and 7.3. My first work truck was a 6.2 ...
