Re: Steering box brace
Duncan, for a DD the inverted Y is actually a pretty good setup. Since I've already spent the $ on currie steering with a DS tie rod flip I'm going to stick with it for now. I gotta call BS here. No way a shorter drag link operating at a steeper angle is optimal, on or off road. Only reason it was ...

Re: Steering box brace
I would say it's probably not really needed. Your ram assist will effectively take the strain off of your steering gear. A bit different on the XJ as their steering gear is mounted to the unibody rather than the frame. I would say time and money is better spent on a high steer setup. Change your out...

Re: Tons, Atlas
Not a whole lot of work going on the last two weeks, had the flu kicking ****** and I've had some welding to get done on my 44's for the guy buying them. The Treps did arrive, had them drop shipped to a local tire shop, they said they'd mount them for $30 a wheel...sold! http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13...

Re: 2012 JK defected Pentastar engines!
Just to be an ass about word usage, I think we mean "defective" Pentastar engines. I don't think there's and danger of the Pentastars defecting to GM or Ford :) Honestly, the 3.8 isn't exactly known for its bulletproof reliability either. Known oil consumption issues to the extent that Chr...

Re: Dec. 25th
I made out pretty good, some snowboarding gear, gift certificate for some choice meats, other cool stuff. My favorite is this print my Mom gave me of Doc Watson playing a show in Greensboro, NC, with the ghost of Merle Watson overlooking things in the background. Got to build a nice frame for it! ht...

Re: Tons, Atlas
I had a few hours to work yesterday so I got the front axle, suspension, and steering out and got the frame on to jack stands. Great news also is National Grid finally came out and hooked up the electrical...no meter base yet for some reason but I'm hooked up now :D http://img.tapatalk.com/d/12/12/1...

Shipping Help?
So I'm approaching the ship date of the 60's I ordered from Solid, but I now have a problem of where to ship them. My apartment in Somerville is pretty much a definite no. I did pay a bit extra to get a lift gate truck for the delivery so a loading dock won't be necessary but I'm at a bit of a loss ...

Re: Cages, Shock Towers, and Harness Bars, OH MY!
The B pillar is the weak point on the JK's. Its about 2x4" stamped square tube at less than 1/8" thick. I have a good bit of tube welded in now, but the starting point is JunK.

Re: Cages, Shock Towers, and Harness Bars, OH MY!
Definitely getting a notcher too, just haven't decided which one to get. T00b Shark would be really nice. Also significantly more than I was willing to spend. The Model 32 I got is basically an HD version of their Model 3 which has been around for long time and a very well thought of bender. Basical...
