Re: Onboard Air
I hard mounted a relatively cheap Q Industries MV89G dual cylinder compressor years ago and it’s still doing the job. Fill rate is decent for big tires. Not good for air tools but for filling tires it’s great.

Re: Head Gasket?
Thanks Frank! Oil has looked fine but haven't checked in a while. Heater core is fine. Haven't tried the cap off test. I could have a small coolant leak but I sure can't find it... I scheduled a pressure test at Lou's next week so I'll see what they say. I'm consuming a quart of oil every 2 -3k mile...

Re: Anyone done Heater core on TJ
Did mine 6-1/2 yrs ago. It sux no matter what! You can leave the steering wheel, dissconnect the dash and hang it from the overhead bars. I bought a Crown heater core which was a bad fit but cheap at their outlet store in Canton. The tube required bending but it's still going okay. OEM is supposed t...

Don’t have the right tools or a garage. Is it worth having a shop do that?

Head Gasket?
4.0L, 20yrs old, 126k, all original and is slowly consuming oil and antifreeze. Several fluid top-offs are needed in between oil changes. The valve seals must be shot, but now starting to think the head gasket is going. Runs fine otherwise. Anything I should check before diving into a head gasket pr...

Finally got around to installing the Tatton front driveshaft. Looks good! And then I discovered a flat tire and leaking front axle seal.

Re: Let's talk about shortcuts and a death...
Sad, sad story that I’m sorry to hear. Sorry for the loss of your friend. It reminds me of the time I hopped in the heep, drove to the local Home Depot and saw a car minus wheels sitting on stacked cinder blocks in a driveway. I felt like knocking on the front door and smacking someone on the head. ...

Re: Optima replacement
My Sears Platinum AGM battery (basically the Odyssey) just died on Thanksgiving day in NJ after 3 yrs and 2 months. Picked up an equivalent at Batteries Plus with a 5 yr warranty. I’d be surprised if it lasts that long but can’t beat that warranty! It’s an X2Power AGM 34/78.

Don't know if they're still around, but you may be able to call and only buy the dual battery tray.

Ran an errand, parked the jeep only to find this critter staring me down. Not sure if he was looking to bite me or steal the jeep. It showed no fear or concern

Re: Optima replacement
The Odyssey batteries are the bomb. They have side terminals but a rectangular design. Round hole, square peg Can you fab a fix for these batteries?
