Re: Lifts, inspections, how they measure.
Just thought I'd share… I went to a local mobil station and passed inspection today with a small lift, 34s and rubi flares that mostly cover the tires I was a little worried that I'd fail for tires (had 32s mounted before), but it's all good.

Re: axle seals
Thanks for the advice. I ended up using sockets for the inner seal job. I was lucky to have a complete large socket set! Since I sleeved the D30 the metal part of the inner seal is barely smaller than the inner sleeve. One socket worked to bang it out, but a socket 1/16" bigger or smaller would...

axle seals
I'm replacing my leaking dana 30 inner axle seals today. What's the best way to knock out the old seal? Should I use a piece of black pipe from home depot? Or, a big socket and lots of extensions? And, any advice on how to press in the new ones?

I remember Eve being there on my first Baystate run too. All smiles, laughs and flip-flops. It's shocking. Rest in peace.

Re: D-30 pinion seal
Cahhhl - I had a heck of a time getting my pinion nut off today. I ended up heating it a few times with a MAP torch until my impact wrench finally broke it free. Also, I picked up a pinion seal and a new nut from the Crown outlet in Canton for a whole $7.

Re: SSR tires okay?
I ended up ordering them through Elia's for $50 more than the cheapest on-line price I could find due to MA sales tax. No need to stuff a set of 34s into my wrangler for the drive over to get them mounted. 2 week wait on delivery which isn't bad

SSR tires okay?
Hey guys - I'm thinking of buying 34 x 11.4 Super Swamper SSR tires soon and in time for the PA trip this Spring  They will be a second set to my 32 x 10.5 ATs which I'm keeping for inspection, road trips, winter driving etc.. Any opinions on the SSR tires, or any reason to stay away from the...

Re: Steering box brace
I've been pretty happy with the MORE steering brace. It's beefy and fits good. They offer a different one for your year.

I'm okay, but my neighbor's Subaru directly across the street from me was flattened. No one was hurt and we never lost power.

Re: Currie bump stop / retainer
I use Clayton coil retainers which are beefy bolt on discs; cost was $39 with shipping. They give you 2 pairs that are meant to clamp the lower and upper part of the rear springs, but I used them to clamp down only the lower part of all 4 springs. http://claytonoffroad.com/product_info.php/products_...

I'd start by checking if a relay is stuck on, and if so, whether it's shorted at the input or if it's just a bad relay.

Re: Need a water pump for me TJ. "Made in USA"... does it ex
I've had good luck running a FlowKooler pump for the last 5 years, and I believe they're made in Cali. You should get it in 2 days if you order it from Quadratec.
