Re: Handheld 2-ways

I took a quick look into the legality issue for the Baofeng radios and, quite frankly, it made my head hurt. Here's the super short version: If it's certified under FCC Part 95, you're good to go. Here's a link if you want to start going down the rabbit hole. Bring tylenol. http://www.arrl.org/news/...

Re: Handheld 2-ways

Interesting. I thought it was no longer legal to sell these in the US after September 1st or something like that... these are a nice radio and I would jump on getting one while you still can. We only use the FSR function like on walkie talkies but these have a nice feature of doing HAM radio as wel...

Re: Lockers & Re-Gearing Help

One thing you could do is at least see what the Jeep is programmed for. You can use something relatively inexpensive, like the JScan app, to read the current settings. You'll want something like that to change your settings when you do re-gear anyway. What did you use to reset the computer for your ...

Re: JKU and JLU lift kits

Sure is pretty, though! I don't have the height you want on my JK but, if the quality of their long arm kits is as good as their short arm kits, I don't think you'd go wrong with Rock Krawler. In my opinion, New England's unique style of wheeling makes us a bit more prone to breakage, and Rock Krawl...

Re: JKU and JLU lift kits

Is the height for clearance or cosmetics? Flat fender flares will always make you look a bit taller than you are. And I just so happen to have a set of bushwhacker flares for a JK in my basement... ;)

ETA: Turns out they're MCE fenders. I guess after four years I forgot. :)

Re: Lockers & Re-Gearing Help

Old Gears: Stock 3.21 gears New Gears: Nitro 4.10 gears Tire Size: 33" Lockers Used: None If you could do it all over, would you change anything? I think it's very important to include tire size in this one. Anyway, I'm thrilled with the result. At the time, I had no need for lockers. I wish I'...

Re: Getting Ready for my Inspection...

I just got some 33's put on and I'm worried it wont pass now haha. I should get it inspected before I sell my stock wheels off. What exactly is your setup? I haven't had any issue with my 33s. If memory serves, and it rarely does, the tires are 11.5" wide on a 9" wide wheel with a -12mm o...

Re: Getting Ready for my Inspection...

That's crazy! I had a place try to fail me a couple of years ago because I had a frame around my front license plate. I pulled out my leatherman and took the frame off on the spot. Based on pictures, I don't think your 35s are sticking out any more than my 33s do and that's never been an issue for m...

Re: New on the wait list

Hi Marc - welcome! I see armor and gears but no light bar? ;) Looks good, hope to see you on the trails soon I doubt I'll ever wind up with a light bar. :snooty: Seriously, though, I've only wished I'd had lights once and everything else I've wished for several times. I'll get there eventually. :)

New on the wait list

Hello, I've just added myself to the wait list for membership so... I'll see you in 2025? I drive a black two door 2014 JK Sahara sitting on roughly 1.5" of lift and 33" KO2s. This is about as big as I can go and still fit into my garage as it's not a standard size. This is my first ...
