Re: PSA: Do not use wheel locks!

Ok, that was very subjective and opinionated I'll admit (who isn't?). Some people may need all the security they can get, and I know others spend considerably more on wheels than I have. There are much more secure locks as well. And perhaps others are much more disciplined in their lug nut key track...

PSA: Wheel locks (locking lug nuts)

(Note: There's some backstory here, maybe I'll save it for the newsletter.) Please don't buy and use locking lug nuts. They either offer zero little to no security, or at best they are a liability that may cost you or someone else serious time and aggravation down the road. Lug nuts can get seized a...

Also if anyone would like lightly used (only 2hrs) lower ball joint (only tried on once!), let me know... I have one as well. :-D

Re: Jinxed myself D44 Rubi front

Ordered RCV axles and Teraflex ball joints since they are supposed to clear the RCV boots. Well, they don't. Hi. I'm not sure about your setup by I am running this combo exactly. Yes, they are *really* close, but no contact. The ball joints must be installed with the grease ports facing outward and...

Re: Making the best of the virus...

(Photo: at one point midway through repairs, looks like a Jeep skeleton) IMG_20200425_171449.jpg Oh! Also I got all the skids, pulled, sanded primed and painted. Dropped the gas tank and hit every single pocket of rust anywhere I could reach and hit it with corroseal, black enamel, then the whole fr...

Re: Making the best of the virus...

Late to the party but... been very busy keeping myself occupied all this time. 1. New exhaust (easiest mod ever!) Magnaflow rock crawler series. Sounded loud at first but wife approves so I guess it actually sounds pretty good. I 2. Brakes (again), back to solid rotors, (avoid drilled/slotted), less...

Re: Need advice on what Jeep to buy

We have a 2018 Compass for our "normal" driving. So far it seems to be a perfect fit for us. Feels like a slightly scaled down Grand Cherokee. Two car seats fit perfectly in the back seat. Just yesterday I was able to haul 600+ (20 bags) lbs of topsoil which stacked entirely in the back be...

Re: CAT Back Exhaust ???

My assumption was that an all stainless steel version would hold up much longer than the "aluminized" or galvanized coated ones?
This is on my spring upgrade list.

Though I guess under a New England Jeep, everything will eventually corrode :-(

Re: Clunking noise while coasting in 4-hi?

No lockers at this time. I had to draw the line somewhere and have something to look forward to next season.
