Re: [FREE] Lightly used synthetic winch line
If nobody else actually needs it, I'll take it. Before even using it on my Quadratec winch that has well used synth line, I am always looking to shoot another line up a tree when I'm taking it down next to a building.

Re: Desperate need for some Rubicon pull outs (13-17 JK)
I've seen them quite a lot on Failbook marketplace. I think I just searched "Rubicon axles". I've spoken to other Baystaters who've done this too. You may have a drive. I had one set near Waterbury, CT, so a couple hours for me.

On the extension side, you can add straps to limit travel. I think I saw them on Ken's rig.

Re: New Member - Rutland MA
Chris has great advice seeing what others have done and don't forget to ask why. I've done this and it's guided what I've done and when. On one run, one of the members was driving a Cherokee instead of his Wrangler. I asked why. He said he came down on a rock with his Wrangler and put a hole in his ...

Re: New Member Check-In
Welcome neighbor. I'm in Hopkinton, so sort of next door. We moved there from Ashland too. Great recommendation to do some class 6 runs in above posts. I joined about 6 years ago and went to the site in Rutland during the Hurricane on a 100% stock JKU including tires! Liked it enough to go out to St...

Re: Jeep got hit this morning
Man, sorry to see that. I don't see any frame mounting points damaged. It's easy enough to just go to Metal Cloak and start ordering. Looks like all bolt ons. Of course I'm ignoring body damage. I'm sure the person in the car had some very important text to respond to.

Re: LSD vs Lockers
Dave, My JKU has the Jeep factory rear LSD. Something to keep in mind is that they are clutch based and the clutches wear out. When? Some people say at 30k miles. I do notice at 40k miles on mine, it still does work. I would say that tires are more important. Both larger size and more aggressive tre...

Re: Winch
I went a few years with BSJ without a winch and never had an issue. That meaning that so many others had winches and I had tow ropes so there was never a time I "HAD" to have one. I ended up buying one when I got a steel front bumper and I've used it both on the trails and at home pulling ...

Re: New Member
Welcome and I would very much agree with skids! I bought my first one after talking with a member before a run when he showed up with a stock Cherokee instead of his Wrangler and asked him why. He was rock crawling and put a sharp one through his oil pan. My order was in that night.

Re: Electrical gremlins
Any Chrysler built vehicle hates low voltage. Battery, connections like grounds as mentioned and alternator are good first places to check. The battery terminals on my 14 are complete garbage and have been replaced. Tightened to a million foot pounds I could rotate the ground terminal around the bat...

Re: JL Steering Upgrade
I bent my JKU stock tie rod at Brookridge and just bought a metal cloak. Holy cow....cromoly and way bigger diameter. Actual adjustment (the stock one was rusted in place) and of course grease fittings on the included tie rod ends. Expensive but in my opinion, worth it. I didn't get the drag link be...

Re: Towing a JKRU - what vehicle?
The longer the wheelbase, the less the trailer affects the tow vehicle. You also could consider an aluminum trailer. After my first steel/wood deck trailer which weighed way too much, I went with aluminum and was really happy. I also upped my wheelbase from a TJ (yes) to a Suburban which allowed my ...
