Re: Repeat valve burn

When I replaced the head after the first valve burn, I replaced all of the lifters too. The only thing that makes sense is a cooling problem around the effected cylinder. I'm going to pull the head again to replace the valve, and inspect all of the coolant jackets. The problem is only one cylinder a...

Repeat valve burn

I hoping someone here has some good ideas on what might be cause my number 6 exhaust valve to keep burning. I have a 97 TJ with a 4.0. Last fall the Jeep starting misfiring terribly, 306 code. I diagnosed a burned exhaust valve on cylinder number 6. I replaced the head with a remanufactured one. Aft...

Re: Code PO 306

I replaced all the spark plugs. No change. I guess I am going to try spraying brake kleen around the intake manifold while its running to see if that changes the RPM. I will swap the injectors around and see what happens. Can a cam sensor cause only one cylinder to misfire? What about the crank sens...

Re: Code PO 306

The weird thing is that if I plug in the noid injector tester the light flashes which means the wiring/ pulse from the PCM is valid...I think???? I also plugged it into every other injector wire and it appears that all cylinders are receiving pulses from the PCM.

Re: Code PO 306

Also I went along the wiring for each injector removing the connector while it was running . Cylinder 6 was the only connector that made no change when unplugged. That was the reason I changed the injector.

Code PO 306

My 1997 TJ with a 4.0 starting running rough and the check engine light came on. I pulled the codes and I have a PO 306. Which is a misfire on cylinder 6. Here is what I checked. Spark....good. Noid light check on injector wiring.....light flashes. Wiring to injector seems ok. Full compression check...

Re: Inspection Stations

I was talking to my local inspection station about the cameras. He told me that there is rampant fraud going on with inspections. Apparently, people are just giving vin numbers and receiving stickers based on that. He said they are looking to verify that the vehicle is actually being inspected. Conv...

Yeah I was going to check that out, since I'm concerned the pickup might have been damaged. She's got 115,000 miles on her.

Re: Oil Pan Skid

Ordered a steel UCF plate and a new oil pan. Hopefully, I can get that done along with a cracked frame welded before GG on the 17th.

Oil Pan Skid

So I just got back from a great trip at Rausch. Thanks Kurt, Tony and Kathe for a great trip. I mangled a few things and was inspecting my Jeep and noticed that I really smashed my oil pan. I guess I had too much fun. I need to replace it so I ordered a new one. Obviously, I don't want to smash the ...
