Here are some pic's of my OBA set up. http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i363/84cj/143.jpg http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i363/84cj/146.jpg I have since changed the filter, to a much larger one from Sears, looks identical to the one you see in John's pictures. Works great. One of the best thin...

Can't believe I did that with out a full cage...It was awesome, in hindsight! I was pretty scared during the whole thing, it took me a minute to compose myself and actually understand what Dan was asking me to do...

Re: lockers & re-gearing
I have a 5 speed nv3550 with 4.56 and 35's. It will cruise the highways from hear to Moab at 75 all day long (literally), unless of course you through a steep grade in there then my CJ struggles a bit. 4.88's would be a decent choice as well, but right now my 1st gear is so low I have to change gear...

Re: Yet another reason to love Rausch
Glad I bought a canopy for that trip, and I'm looking forward to the next trip. Rain, Downpours, still had a blast! It boils down to people, good people = good times regardless. It is also the best proving grounds I've taken my rig on, for sure. You know what I mean John and Kurt! AKA the dynamic re...

Back to work (finally)
Monday was a weird day, in the morning my wife called and told me that she and 799 other people will be losing their jobs in March,( you may have read the article in the globe or the wall street journal about Sun Life Financial) (Also, keep in mind, other than a short consulting gig, I have been out...

Re: WTF - When it rains it pours
I hear what you guys are saying, and the extreme trails at Rausch did cause a lot of problem for me, but since then, ( the May 2011 Rausch trip) I have put enough money and new parts in it that I am to far gone to start a new. I think the 20 has done well for me for a long time, and I have never had...

Re: WTF - When it rains it pours
I do appreciate all of your comments and suggestions and if I were to start all over, ( with zero dollars tied up into the AMC20) I would build a Dana 44 of a ford 9" and not look back. But it is what it is and if I can eliminate the weakest link of the axle by increasing the size of the tube w...

Re: WTF - When it rains it pours
John, thanks for the offer, but After talking to Lou, there are a lot of unknowns, such as, probably need a new drive shaft, the brake booseter may not have enough capacity, not to mention clearance, my gas tank skid already has a dent in it from my 20, I could only image the clearance issues with t...
