Re: New Member

Hi all! I'm Dave and just joined BSJ. I drive a 2023 JL Wrangler Sahara 4xe (sky one-touch) with stock 31.9" tires with 20" rims. I intend to swap tires to 33" KO2's this year (open to suggestions for something better). I've only added superficial interior mods so far and looking for...

Re: New Member

Rockhard makes 1/4” steel skid plates. I’d recommend 1/4” for at least the engine skid, it takes the most beating. My gas tank skid is factory, I didn’t get it covered before it was beat to hell. Don’t be like me, lol

Re: How do I become a trail leader?

Good to see someone step up. Biggest thing is getting the maps, it helps greatly if you've done the trails before. Reach out to the trail director and they can point you in the right direction. Sadly it is usually the same people that lead. I’m not sure who was signed up for this one, hopefully thos...

I did the box and pump myself. Not a big deal on a JK, not sure how a TJ is but shouldn’t be much different

Re: Death wobble. Ugh.

Yup my 'ol Jeep is starting to show its age. Had death wobble a month ago, tightened the bolts and fixed it. Now it has returned as a soft wobble. I'll try the tire rotation this weekend. But I'm wondering what a steering box upgrade looks like? A new box fixed mine. I went with the PSC Big Box as ...

Re: Towing a JKRU - what vehicle?

In my younger days I used to flat tow a built Samurai with a Toyota pickup (pre Tacoma). Yikes.

Yes, hard top. Those were hard to come by but are becoming more common. Hope he is enjoying it, I’ve seen a bunch around but none with both the doors and top off

I reserved one almost 2 years ago, still waiting. There are some available but they are marked up like crazy if you can find one. lol Tire pressures make a world of difference My neighbor ordered one from a dealer in Maine 6 months ago and he had it 2 months ago. MSRP, let me know if you want the i...

Re: Death wobble. Ugh.

Something that is common is a loose track bar bolt that wears the joint enough to oval it out. That bolt needs to be wicked tight. I'm sure there's a torque spec, it's not in my head to say what it is. The loose bolt turned out to be my problem that I found coming back from a Maine NEA meeting a fe...
