Re: Recommendation for side steps/running boards?
Most of the less expensive ones won’t hold up to a lot of off road abuse. I have the Shrockworks ones and are holding up well to the abuse. If you want one that also doubles as a step the LOD Destroyer is nice, avoid any that has the step hang below the rail. They will just catch on the rocks and ge...

It will be even better if you ever upgrade the pump and hoses. Works great off road in the rocks.

Re: Lockers & Re-Gearing Help
a little off topic but gearing related. The JK 6-speeds (at least 13+, probably even earlier years) have a cool feature in low range where if you are crawling with your foot off the pedals it will maintain idle speed even if the engine try’s bogging down in the rocks. This makes it hard to stall and...

Re: Lockers & Re-Gearing Help
The research I’ve done on the JK with the 3.8 and 6 speed favored the 4.88 gears. Comparing the JK to anything else really isn’t apples to apples

I got the big bore box because mine had slop. I don’t think the one in your link is any more than the stock box. What’s wrong with your box?
Never mind, just saw your other post. I’d spend the extra $200 and get the big bore, it’s worth it for the extra performance you get out of it

That’s the first time I’ve heard of a JK having rust that bad. DangKing Hap wrote:I just had to Replace my floor (Driver side) Unreal the amount of rust and how fast it spreads. Same reason for this Exhaust, but i can not complain. She has been good to me!!!

Re: Reliable transmission shops in Worcester area
The throwout bearing on JKs are known for being noisy. Mine has always made noise, I just have to rest my foot on the clutch and the noise goes away. If that’s all it is I wouldn’t worry about it.

An alignment can be done in the driveway too. Total job shouldn’t be more than an hour, maybe a little more including the alignment. Perfect job for a wrenchfest
