New Wait lister from Princeton MA

Unread post by Gso125 »

Thanks for adding me as a member on the Forum and the wait list. I live in Princeton but I’m from and work in Worcester. New to the Jeep thing first time owner of a 2021 Rubicon. Had many 4x4’s mainly for snow plowing but my first was a 86 f150 short bed 33in tires with a warn winch back in 80’s and 90’s had a lot of fun with it. Bought the the truck when I was stationed at NAS Meridian Mississippi and needed a winch on the clay back roads. I Would take it off road up here, Maine and Vermont but no real rock crawling lol. Looking forward to learning what the jeep can do. I plan on adding a winch in the future and more as I go along. I have no mods yet. Thanks again Gerry

I think there were other lettering styles too for JK etc, I went with this one cause they had the matching font for the JL.

Welcome Gerry. Nice to see another JLUR, especially granite crystal. I think that makes four, possibly five.

Nice looking Jeep LOL love the color. I have a question for you I have the same bumper setup waiting on my new winch and warn winch plate to arrive and have been debating on the front bar to get a stock one or a warn one. Can’t tell from the picture what one you have and if you like it. I was leaning towards the stock one so I can use a strap on the tow hooks.

Yes. I am doing my best to stick with both front and rear stock steel bumpers. I do not see the need to replace, especially the front as they function and look pretty good to me. And while I'm not a big fan of the open front hooks for recover, the winch solves that concern. I did remove the front bumper caps to maximize room on those really tight turns that the four door sometimes needs on trail, getting trees right up to the tires.

The hoop is just cosmetic from Maximus 3. It can be bolted to stock bumper tilted backwardor forward like stinger. I have mine back to allow more view for front facing trail camera.

Gerry, Just to be clear, my setup is a little different than yours as I purchased the factory-installed steel bumpers which allow for the end cap removal, hoop install and warn winch plate/winch. I am not familiar with your front bumper. Sorry.

Hi Mike sorry it’s the same as your bumper I just haven’t posted updated pictures. I was waiting on the winch and warn winch plate. (Just got an email the plate went on back order with no projected date from warn hopefully I can find one)

Does your hoop bar mount close to the tow hooks or can you still use a tow strap with them. The warn hoop mounts close to the hooks making it so you can’t use a strap over the hook. Thank you Gerry
