Trusted Shop on the Northshore?

Unread post by Axeman »

My TJ D44 rear axle is leaking. I ordered the Spicer kit with the seal and bearing, but don't have a press. I do all the work on the TJ myself, so I don't know of any good axle shops or someone that is familiar with pressing the bearing so it doesn't get messed up. Anyone have any recommendations near Salem MA? Or a press I can use?

Any automotive repairs shop should be able to press them for you.
Ratchet's Offroad in Auburn NH. Great guys support the NEA.
If you do it yourself don't forget to put backing plates back on axle first before seals and bearings. You will be cursing yourself.

Thanks Mark, I'll check out Ratchets. I know most garages could do it, but I'd rather someone who regularly works with TJs.
