Called Lou and he doesn't stock a D30 HP pinion seal and either the front or rear seal for NV241OR. So has anyone had any luck with a local auto part store?

My TC is now leaking from the front seal and the replacement for the D30 pinion has a slight leak.

One would think... you would be surprised how not helpful the folks working at an auto parts store are these days.

Ended up placing an order with Quadratic. Hope the parts arrive today.

One thing I couldn’t figure out is for the HPD30 they sell a seal with a flange edge and a seal without a flange edge. Assuming the flange edge is easier to install?

According to the parts diagram the front output seal for the NV241OR appears to be the same for both the 241 and the 231 TC. However the rear output seal for the 241 is not the same as the 231? I know 1 person that knows this stuff better than anyone and knows the part numbers without looking them up, however I haven’t seen Kurt around. I did pass him on RT2 the other day, but didn’t think it was safe to drive and pick his brain [FACE WITH STUCK-OUT TONGUE AND WINKING EYE].

Is there a seal brand to stay away from?

how long have you been gone? Offroad Elements has been around for at least 5 years and is locally based but has an international presence. They have consistently beaten prices on Quadratec and 4wd.com but unlike Lou don't make you feel stupid when you ask a question. Owed and operated by a couple that wheels the snot out of their JK and now JL.

Here are some photos.

Front pinion looks like it has a slight leak and the pinion is not aligned, pointed to high.

Other photos shows the signs of TC leaking. Perhaps it is the input shaft seal, but I am not sure I would see fluid towards the top. I see some grease being thrown from the u-joint.

Drive line vibes are gone... front pinion angle was 7 degrees higher then the DS angle. Now The pinion is only 2 degrees higher then the DS angle.
