My right rear shock hanger is rusting out, has been for a while. It is to the point now where the shape has deformed on one side from me slamming it around. The remaining metal is getting too thin to support the abuse. I have seen replacement shock hangers on frame sections that you weld on. Is there an option other then replacing the entire frame?

That sounds pretty bad, Not sure you could do anything short of replacing the whole or part of the frame. look for more rust and make a decision on how much of the frame is gone and see if you can patch, or need to replace...

There are always options available, but you need to repair any frame damage for safety.

Do you know how to weld ? Do you have a welder that will handle the Job ? Cut and grind off the old mounts, line up the new ones and use either a wire feed or a stick welder. Don't forget to stitch weld and to alternate sides.
If you are worried about heat transfer or the bearings, just wrap a wet towel around the axle tube on either side of the work area, 4-6 inches from the mounts.
