Jay in Arlington Ma

Unread post by JayH »

Hey all, new member here as of today. Max introduced me to some of you over in Waltham a couple weeks ago. I've just picked up my first wrangler a few months ago, it's a 2013 Sahara unlimited. No mods yet, I'll have to let you experienced jeepers point me in the right direction to empty out my wallet. My only offroad experience is on two wheels, but I look forward to getting on some trails with four.

Yes those JKU steps are not sliders and will get messed up pretty good even on a mild property..... See the other Jays intro thread for your list of upgrades
try to get an Evap skid as your first order of business....

Hi Jay - Welcome from another newbie! I'm the other Jay with a stock JKU Sport. After you review my welcome thread I'm happy to forward any info on prices and brands I found. I won't be able to make the 101 b/c I have a road race I've committed to but I will be at the pre-101 meet up to try and nail down some of the basics and help set up for the actual 101.

Oh...and congrats on the new rig!

I've been lurking around your intro thread and taking notes. I'm hoping to swing through the 101 meet, maybe just to watch and learn until I get a setup decent for my own wheeling. Don't want to go too aggressive on a build right now, as this is also my daily driver, and my commute is down the highway.

JayH, so is the "other Jay's" A DD that is. You are more than welcome to come to the 101 it is as hands on as you want it to be. Fear not, nothing extreme! Lots of people do not build their rigs to be monsters...no worries!

Kelly (Kodi) speaks the truth. You'll see stock rigs at the 101 (and some mild ones, and maybe more) but the 101 is geared towards people just like you. Newly addicted, and looking to learn. There's nothing you can't do that day. We go over the basics, and then you get to try your new skills on a (stocker friendly) trail ride. Hope you can make it
