Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on these cheap pieces of junk! 4 1/2" metal cutoff wheels for your angle grinder: stay away. I usually use a better brand like Hilti but I was in a pinch and Ace is a short walk down the street. These nasty little fellas not only do a poor job cutting, but have a tendency to break and fragment quite easily. Thought the first one was a heavy hand on my part but the next two proved it. Saw enough shrapnel in the desert, don't need it in my back yard! :)

The Ocean State Slob Lot grinder disks suck too (leather glove bore the brunt).

Yummy. :handgestures-thumbupright:

I use DeWalt cut off wheels and grinding discs. A little more money, but usually no blood shed.

the problem with the cheap one like that is they are not rated for the high rmp of a good angle grinder that why the break so easy. a freind of mine was using a harbor freight disk in a dewalt angle grinder and it broke and gave him a six inch gash across his face. when he contacted the company that makes them they told him he wasn't using it propery because of the rmp.

HF wheels are about the only ones I haven't had an issue with!
Used them in Ryobi, DeWalt, Black and Decker, and HF grinders without issues.
Heck, I've even used the cutoff discs like grinding disks (using very light pressure of course!) without problems.

I stick with the Slack and Pecker disks. No problems since.

There was a picture of a guy with one of them stuck in his cheek . Down right fugly . Like Joe , Ive had one shatter and I felt it hit my finger. I looked at the glove and I knew it was gonna be bad. It had cut the glove and my finger nail diagonally . Then the pain came. The cheap disk was only rated for 12000 rpm . It shattered on start up before I engaged the metal ! Now I check the ratings.
