Brian -

That thing looks soooo light - it'll fall over if you walk past it quickly! Nice! I'm trying to get in better shape riding my mountain bike-turned-commuter-bike that has fenders, racks, etc. (heavy) on the minuteman rail trail - I long for a lightweight bike like yours - not in the cards right now - unemployed... :(

Aren't "niners" actually twenty-niners, that is: 700 mm wheels (about 27") with 2" mountain bike off-road tires on em (27 + 2 = 29)? Not sure why they're better, maybe they're faster riding on dirt trails?

Its a 19lb bike the way it sits in the pic and over 4g retail It is a very fast bike just the bike should drop 30 seconds in a 10 mile TT I will know on March 20th thats my 1st TT
My road racing bike is 18lbs when I put the rims + tires from the TT bike on it it will be 16.6 lbs LOL
My Mt Bike full Suspension has Fox air shocks ft + back you dont even feel rocks up 2, 8-10in high over 2ft Drops you feel when you hit ground Over 3-4 ft drops its a FIRM landing Not bad for a XC racer @ 27lbs
Mt bike are 26in tires + rims road bikes are 700mm or close to 27 29in rims are just that 29 in they take a 29in tire
The 29in tires will roll over rocks and stuff easier larger tire like the diff between a33in + a 35in jeep tire
They make the frame smaller so the seat height is the same It will maintain a steady speed with less effort also

There is a bike manufacturer called Parlee less than a half mile from house that builds TT bike along the lines of yours. I don't really know much about them but think it's cool that their small manufacturing shop is located in my town.
