Need to get an inspection sticker. Does anyone know if it is going to be an issue if I have the soft doors on?

as long as you have mirrors I cant see an issue, but it also depends on the station, if you know they are very strict i'd throw hard doors on. i've heard of people passing with no doors on but I wouldnt try it...

I've passed with no doors and a side mirror. If I was really lazy, I might even go with just the drivers door so I had that mirror, and leave the passenger door off... :)

I just hate pulling them down, but it sounds like it will be the best bet.

I always got my inspection with no doors. THAT way they didn't have a measuring point per the inspections guidelines. Their suppose to measure from the bottom of the door.

If the vehicle comes factory with removable doors then it's your right to not use them. Just like if it was a convertible car you could get your inspection with the top down... guess that example works for a TJ too. lol

You need at least two mirrors. Rear view (inside) and Lh mirror only works. ;)

Got mine earlier this month without doors at a station near my office that I'd never even been to before. No issues at all.

Did you have 2 mirrors mounted?

Driver's side A pillar mount and the windshield one only, no passenger side mirror.

The last couple of years I got my JK inspected with no doors. As long as you have mirrors, doors are optional on the Wranglers. Last time the guy even mentioned having to fail someone because they had no mirrors.

If he had the windshield mounted rear view mirror then he should NOT have been failed:

You do NOT have to have side mirrors.

Well Just went with doors and asked if I showed up without doors and was told that I would fail. Something about since the vehicle was purchased with 3 mirrors, 3 would be required to pass. I am not one to argue....

Yeah, I've always heard that if it came from the factory with x mirrors then you need x mirrors. Pretty much true of any equipment. It's like the passenger side rear view mirror. It's not needed if it didn't come with it, but don't take it off just because you don't like it there.

You do NOT have to have side mirrors.
I would interpret that to mean that you need a left side mirror. A center mirror does not give you a "clear, reflected view of the highway to the (left side) of the vehicle." I've driven large commercial trucks that don't have a center mirror because you can't see through the box... one of them actually came with a center mirror, though - gave me a great view of the back wall. Luckily the RMV doesn't test x-ray vision when licensing. The mirror didn't stay on the windshield very long before it ended up stashed away. Nobody ever gave me crap about it because I had side mirrors.

I just realized I contradicted my first post with my second. :teasing-knob: Oh well, in my case I guess the guys at Ricky's Towing where I got the trucks inspected had enough common sense not to worry about the useless mirror??
