Installing Shrockworks sliders with Metal Cloak skids?

Unread post by ChrisL »

So a scant 3 months after I ordered my Shockworks rock rails, the drive side one showed up today. Hopefully, the passenger slider shows up on Monday...

How do I mount these things with my Metal Cloak skidplate system?

Do I loosen the skid plates up and slide the rock sliders under the skidplates or should the rock sliders bolt on top of the skid plates? I have not looked at it yet since it was just too hot to work on the jeep today. Just looking for pointers that have installed these sliders with skid plates.

Thanks,
Chris

Pretty sure it goes over skid, but not positive about that. I thought it was in the instructions

The intructions are terrible and they point you to project-jk which is terrible as well. Once you look at everything it is pretty apparent.

Anyway, sliders first, skids mounted second.

I had to add a few washers on the transfercase skid to level and fit it.

They work great, already scratched to heck!

Glad you finally got them. I’ve had mine a couple years now and beat the crap out of them and they hold up fine

Thanks for the recommendation, they are really great but the lead time is atrocious. I spoke many times to Mark, who I think is the owner, and he is really having an issue hiring and retaining folks.

I wonder where they are located, I'm looking for a job and considering changing professions (fabricator sounds interesting)... :)
