Time to upgrade

Unread post by SteveB »

Got rear-ended in the Comanche after Sunday's meeting. Was a half mile from home. I stopped at a stop sign, the guy behind me says "I thought you were going", No, I usually stop at stop signs I told him. No one was hurt and I think his conversion van suffered more damage....time to upgrade to a new bumper.

That stinks. Did your tailgate get any damage? Is there a cross member back there that got bent too?

I've had a few people (Joe O being one) tell me that both my frame and front bumper are junk on my CJ and they will gladly take them both off my hands. :P

Ahh thanks Frank, but I like Don's idea. Upgrade choices are slim for MJ's, which got me looking at welding equipment and other toys.

Upgrade complete.

I went with this.......

for the rear. Got it on Friday, prep, primed and painted over the weekend and mounted it this morning.
A perfect fit ..

Also mounted up a front receiver so I now have tow points front and rear. W/ the 31" sneakers I am now club legal!

Thanks to Ray and Frank who each at one time or another offered to fab me something. I am an impulse buyer though and jumped when I saw this.
