Hi guys!! My name is Paul, and I'm new to all this. I recently purchased a 1995 Wrangler. It's got a lift and 35s. I'm in the process of getting her road worthy/dependable. Turns out I need a computer, which has been ordered. I have very little off roading experience, and look forward to learning. As this is my first Jeep, I'm not sure what mods I'll be making.

Welcome Paul! The best mods you can make are improving driver skill. Take the jeep, as it is, work out the current dependability things, then wheel it. Wait on the mods until you experience the weaknesses on the trail.

Again, welcome!

Welcome, Paul. I wheeled two years before doing any mods. The suggestion to wheel it as it is is a good one. But Jim's suggestion of skids first is also one I highly agree with. You will always need the protection whatever you decide to do.

Hey Paul . Welcome to the forum . A 95 is referred to as a YJ . You didnt mention if it had the I-6 or I-4 engine ? Is it a stick shift or auto ? Lockers of any sort (traction device) or do you know what gear ratio you have ? Most YJs with the 4 cyl. had 4.10s and most of the 6s came with 3.07s. With 35s , its kinda important as the higher number with the bigger tires helps with power and MPGs. There will be plenty of time and money spent as you get more into this hobbie . Its so much fun you cant help yourself. I always say , After racing motorcycles , I know get my kicks at 1.8 MPH but my knees dont hurt on Monday ! 15 yrs. for me and "Mona" and yea there have been some changes , but its been done over the years. Drive it , see what you like and dont like. Then spend the money once ! FjR68

Might have better luck posting your needs in the For Sale/Wanted forum. Or, try the New England Jeeps Facebook Group at
