Re: Track Bah binding
Cut the stock mounts out. Need to modify and fit the beefier track bar mount to accept suspension full flex.

Re: Track Bah binding
Cycled the suspension some more and it turns out that it's hitting the top of the axle mount before fulling extending the shock. I assume the best option is to clearance and weld in a new axle bracket...

Track Bah binding
A couple of Rausch trips ago, the spherical joint stud on my track bar snapped and I assume it was because the front track bar binds. It already had a hairline crack for a while. I pulled the springs yesterday, and there’s binding on the passenger side at full droop, even when I loosen the jam nut o...

Re: Shops that install lifts
Lou at Elia's is great. They will install a quality kit and makes sure everything works correctly. They installed my lift kit when I first started and since then, I've slowly gotten a set of shop tools together, learned how to weld and fabricate, etc.

I've been running a Borla cat back for years. It's stainless, sounds throaty but not annoying and good overall.

Wow, those were some deep knuckle divots! I repaired one side on my TJ, but it wasn't nearly as bad.

Re: Chasing Issues
Is the jeep a daily driver? Another option is to pick up a cheap used Dana 30 on craigslist and swap it in while you figure out what to do. Here's one for $25! Might give you more time and repair flexibility if needed.

Re: Chasing Issues
If you're able to, it wouldn't hurt to pull the cover and take a closer look. You could still fill it with oil and bring it somewhere later.

Re: Steering shaft play.
Thanks for the explanation, that makes sense. I noticed the plastic pins but thought that they were supposed to set tension. Didn't realize that the lower shaft is designed to be rigid. Is my only problem then that the plastic caps popped off the bearing? It seems that there's excessive front to bac...

Re: Steering shaft play.
Got it apart and the two shafts that are part of the lower unit are seized together. Don't see any rust so..... how did I do that?! It couldn't flex so it popped the plastic cap ends off. Good news is that the needle bearing still looks good, is relatively tight (a little lose with the shaft on but ...
