Well I put a couple nice dents in the Body Armor rails Lou installed for me over the summer. I wasn't doing anything crazy, just trying to get up some slippery rocks on the 10/30 outing. I just emailed Lou and I'll post any updates on wheter Body Armor will issue replacements.

Re: Pictures from 10/30 Run
Had wicked death wobble on the way to the trailer. Have to find out whats going on as that has never happened ever at any speed. See ya. I was behind you when the DW struck and that was crazy - never seen anything like it! Your front and rear axles were wobbling 180 out of unison and feeding each o...
Re: New Tires
I'm debating buying those same tires next year in a 33 x 11.5 size. I'd love to hear what you think of them after putting some miles on them. From what I've read, pros: great grip, quiet on the road, tough sidewall, cons: heavy, fast wearing rubber, kinda expensive.

Re: Xfer skid options
I installed an Under Cover Fab aluminum engine skid a couple months back and it was well made, didn't look cheap or anything.

Re: Xfer skid options
You might as well ditch the stock skid for a little extra money. Undercover fab sells tough skids for decent prices and they seem to stand up to the abuse well. They come bare steel and you have to paint them but they sell the skids with and without a tummy tuck and even a flat ultra-clearance skid ...

Re: D44 locker and gear install
That's one sexy looking front axle! When are you going to start building them for BSJ members ;) I bet Lou has some Teraflex adjustable arms in stock if you don't feel like waiting for delivery. The guys on jeepforum always salivate over Currie johnny joint arms and trash ones with rubber ends, like...

Re: Dealing with rust in the frame
Wow. Can you ever keep 100% of muddy water out? Seems to me that if you ever get some water in a sealed frame, then it's worth than an open boxed frame that can breath.ZAEDOCK wrote:Booger weld doesn't rust.
My next frame will be sealed shut and beefed before it's installed.

Re: Dealing with rust in the frame
Here's a picture of the vacuum hose I was able to slide up and down the inside of the frame in case anyone is interested. I bought a 3.5hp small canister wet-vac at Home Depot for $25 and it really "sucks" It's a strong little vac and was perfect for this job. You can see how the pla...

Dealing with rust in the frame
So my heep is coming on being 13 years old which I know is young for some jeep owners. Last summer I started painting my frame and not surprisingly found lots of rust inside the frame. I was able to pull out a pile of rust flakes and chunks of rusted metal which I had to break up to get out. I searc...

Re: Lift kit questions
The BDS 3" kit that Lou sells is definitely one way to go. The kit comes with everything you will need; only downside is you might need a TC drop. You might not need the 1" TC drop if you have a 1" MML x2 on the BDS 3" kit. The coils haven't sagged after driving around for 1-1/2...

Thanks for the tips! It's starting to look like conditions might be wet and muddy.Voodoo Chile wrote:Also try to be there early for the tech inspection as trail sign up is first come first served basis.

Who's doing Maine Jeep Jamboree Sept. 30th?
I'm heading to the Bethel, ME Jeep Jamboree this weekend. Anyone from BSJ going? It's kind of pricey but it also sold out fast, so some local people must be going... Anyone?

Tony from Newton, MA
Hi All - I'm new and I met some of you out on Sept. 18th. I've been living in Newton for about 3 years. I live with my fiance Elizabeth and we both do biomed related research in Boston. Here's my 98 TJ on trail with BSJ. P1000094.jpg P1000093.jpg Tell us about the mods you have made. Lots. 3" B...
