Kudos to Smittybuilt

Back on our first trip to Vermont Badlands and in the process of doing a 6 point turn on a narrow hillside trail, I hit a tree and bent my license plate bracket on my roller fairlead. I contacted Smittybuilt hoping to obtain a new clamp, then straightening out the rest myself. I expected just a new ...

Might have better luck posting your needs in the For Sale/Wanted forum. Or, try the New England Jeeps Facebook Group at

Re: New member

Welcome, Paul. I wheeled two years before doing any mods. The suggestion to wheel it as it is is a good one. But Jim's suggestion of skids first is also one I highly agree with. You will always need the protection whatever you decide to do.

A GREAT Experience with The Pep Boys!

I recently ordered an item on Amazon that was sold by and shipped from The Pep Boys. It arrived in a timely manner, was in great shape and the price was good, even including free shipping. The only problem was that I realized it was too large for my needs. I called customer service and what a differ...

I did turn the lights on at one point and they were still working. Then I checked the light saber dip stick and that was all well and good, too. There was light all the way up to the full level.

Re: Bad Experience with 4WD - UPDATE!

Success! After further numerous phone calls to the supervisor of customer service at 4WD, I finally received credit for the paint never delivered.

Re: A/C issue

I think if the high setting on the new switch put out the same velocity as the high setting on the old switch, I would learn to live with the 3 speed switch. If it put out less, I'd be tempted to find the 4 speed.

Re: Hello from Newton

Welcome Chris! Yes, we only do the 101 once a year. But, please, don't let that hold you back from doing some of the less challenging stock runs that we offer throughout the year after you do get the chance to join. Waiting to do mods is a good thing. I did more than a year of wheeling before doing ...

Re: Jeep Beach Trip: Should I remove my carpeting?

Without giving it much thought, I think I would try vacuuming it with a good shop vac afterwards. I think R&R'ing the carpet will be much more frustrating and time consuming. But, since I have never done it, I'm only speculating. It's a "gut feeling" thing!
