i've set up back lash many times due to my crappy old lockers, but i've never done the pinion. that being said, it would be great to look over someone's shoulder while they do it so i can learn.

i would say for under 12" you should air down to your regular pressure. for deep stuff, it's like sand, you can't air down enough. you need to float and as soon as you dig in you're done.
