Re: Pinion seal?
shouldn't be a problem, just set the e-brake, drop the driveshaft and use a long breaker bar to get it loose. Probably wouldn't hurt to soak it with PB Blaster a couple of times before you start. It shouldn't be tighter than the bolts on the front axles, and I can break those loose with my 24"...

Re: Pinion seal?
Thanks Frank
I have a dana 44. From what I have gathered there is no crush sleeve just shims. Looks like the most difficult job is getting the pinion nut off as I don't have air tools.

Pinion seal?
I was underneath the jeep yesterday and noticed dampness where the shaft enters the rear diff. I assume this means my seal is leaking and needs to be replaced. How difficult is this to do?

Re: Lift laws
i have a 4.5" lift and run 35s- for inspection I throw on stock tires. Certain places will fail you automatically without measuring. What area of MA do you live in? i've seen them measure from the ground to the bottom of your door sill. I live in Canton. I guess I could buy a cheap set of rims...

Lift laws
I know that this has been discussed a bit in past forums but I am trying to get my head wrapped around the mass laws. According to the law the max mechanical lift height is track x wheelbase / 2200. So for a stock TJ this is 2.5". There is also 1" tolerance. So the way I understand this is...

Re: 33's on TJ
Without knowing what you already have installed..... Other suggestions would be.... CB, first aid kit, tow Strap, proper tow points, power steering pump skid, after market control arms, and oil tank skid... Thanks LN Already have tow points front and rear, strap, first aid kit, extinguisher, and cb...

Re: 33's on TJ
You dont have to change the bump stops with a BB. Only suspension lift. You will feel the lack of power without changing the gear ratio but a stick is probably better than an auto. 33s is the best on off road tire size for several reasons as the cost ,balancing, wear, all go up after that. I wheele...

Re: 33's on TJ
Exactly what I was thinking as well. One question. Is there anything else I will need to change. I am not sure if the PO changed the suspension bump stops when the BB was installed they look stock to me from pics online.

33's on TJ
Hi I am interested in putting 33 x 12.5 x 15" tires on my TJ. At this point, I am looking to keep it simple and not make too many significant changes. The bigger changes will come with time. I am currently running 31" BFG ATs. I currently have a 2" BB lift that the previous owner inst...

Re: Transmission fluid
I will try letting it warm up a bit and see what happens. Maybe try the redline oil as well.

Transmission fluid
Hi guys A few weeks back. I changed my transmission fluid. Recommended fluid is 75-90 GL3. Couldn't find any locally so I went to the dealer. They told me the part number changed to a 10w-30 motor oil. I had some dino 10w-30 oil already so that is what I used. I am finding it difficult to engage fir...
