Re: WTF - When it rains it pours
Thankfully it happened in my garage. I talked with Mitchell about re-tubing my model 20 and they said it would be in the $1,000 to $1,200 range. Since I have the gears and 2 sets of axle shafts and the new perches and high clearance u-bolt kit I think I will stick with the 20. Would you think they c...

WTF - When it rains it pours
Yesterday, I power washed the mud off the jeep and then went around and lubed all fittings, including removing one end of the drive shaft and hitting the ball joint of my CV shaft. Then, I parked her in the garage. Well, today, I came home from the gym around 1:30 and there was a pool of oil under h...

Re: Prayers for Frank the Tank
I haven't been on here in awhile either, (started work as a consultant = long days). Anyway, Frank I'm glad your doc finally seems to have you in the right meds. Let me know if you need any help putting Mona back together, I would be honored to help!

Re: Steering Issue
As Joe mentioned I have a CJ with a detroit tru trac in the front dana 30 and my turning radius is fine in 2wd but once I engage 4wd turning left is an issue, just like you mentioned. At first I thought I installed the steering stabilizer wrong, but it was installed correctly. I do not have an expla...

Re: Douglas W. Stevenson Sr.
God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.God?s garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best. He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb, so he clo...

Glad you made it back without any trouble.
How's your tranny fluid? There was something spattered all over the front of my jeep that must have come from you...

Re: Spring Over vs Spring Under
Having seen your CJ off road, I would work on making the existing springs work better. Loosen up the clamps and use high clearance u-bolt plates (I think you already did).
I did in the front, I think I will do the same for the rear and call it a day.

Spring Over vs Spring Under
The obvious point here is that for trails spring over is far superior, but I do a lot of driving on the road. So, if I go spring over, I can get rid of those huge shackles and probably stay around the same height. The question is, will the drivability suffer any? For a couple hundred bucks for parts...

Yes, for the rear only the fronts are mounted on the tube. I need to do something just not sure what.
Re: Rausch!
I saw that coming Joe!
Re: Rausch!
Yah, it could have been pretty bad if there was someone to my right. Luckly there was no one around me and things turned out OK. I did all I could to keep the wheel from moving but it still did... severely!
