Re: Inspection Stations
Interesting about the paperwork, I wonder if having the off road registration stickers would count as documentation. I'm getting mine inspected before putting on the larger tires. But I do not want to have to store my 32's and have to swap them every year that would be ridiculous.

Phase I - Complete
Da thug spent a few days with Scott over at Central MA Offroad and we wrapped up Phase I of the build plan. She got a 2.5" lift, front bumper and a winch. Very happy with the result and anxious to start Phase II, 35's, Front axle truss and 4:56's. https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/19554459...

Re: Rock Sliders / Rails
Thanks Dan, I wondered about that as well. I'm looking for the protection as well as can be used as a step into the jeep. I'll look for some that are sturdy and stick out a bit, but don't have that lower under railing.

Rock Sliders / Rails
I'm looking at these as they will fit with the rails that came with the Jeep. Does anyone have the rail/sliders and how do you like them?

Re: Tires and wheel size
I upsized the wheels on my 35s, they are now on 15x10s with the same backspace as I had on my 15x8s. Cleared up a rub on the lower control arms too. This is an area I don't quite understand. All the wheels I'm looking at on quadratec and Extreme Terrain are the 17x9 and the tires 35x12.5. After see...

Tires and wheel size
I've started researching 35' M/T tires and wheels and looking to gather information from others that have 35's that are daily driver. Questions: - Wheel size? - Tire size? - Brand and model tire What do you like or not like about the tire? Most of my 1 hour commute is highway, 95 / 93. I've had one ...

Gears Question
I'm not sure what gearing I have, when I had the skids put on they mentioned it wasn't printed on the differential cover. I had Chrysler email my build sheet and I think I have 3.73, but not sure if I'm reading the right number. Next Gen. Dana 30 Solid Front Axle DMEP 3.73 Rear Axle Ratio DRZS Next ...

Re: Lifts and tires - Reliable research information
My end result would be 3.5-4" lift and 35's. That is the most I would want to do on this jeep, if I wanted to get into more extreme crawling, I'd buy a older lifted jeep with bigger everything that was only for offroading. The 7k was the lift, tires and wheels, no mention of the changes to the ...

Re: Lifts and tires - Reliable research information
The research continues. I had a long chat with Chris at Elias and gathered some additional info and discussed running 35's with the Dana 30 which several folks at events have said isn't the best idea. He recommended a 2" lift if I wasn't doing the 35's at the same time as it would look dispropo...

Re: CB Tuning Issue
The winner is... Squelch adjustment. It's the same knob as the volume and I think it got turned at some point on the first run. I've never used a CB so no idea what to even look for. I adjusted it yesterday and could hear everyone on the run.

Re: CB Tuning Issue
Just back back here to check in.. @Ralph I had put it on that thread thinking someone at the run might be able to assist. @Dave Thanks, I didn't know it was about transmission. Yes, when tested that day I was able to be heard. I just couldn't hear anyone not near me. I have a dremel and I did grind ...

CB Tuning Issue
Can someone help me tune my CB. I have the meter, ran through it when I bought it and got it in range but still have issues. We noticed at 101 that we could hear Ralph talking without issue but not other people talking to Ralph. We were only 2 or 3 jeeps behind Ralph, guessing its not tuned correctl...

Skids Question
I got some information from a local shop on skids and wanted to see what folks thought of these versions and I have a couple questions: Control Arms - JKS Manufacturing makes a set of 1/4 inch thick weld-on skid plates. Differentials - They suggested rough country, but I want the red ARBs. Fuel - We...

Re: Lifts and tires - Reliable research information
@Amanda - I would go to Elias for a lift/tires,etc. I'd want to sit down and have a conversation about my options. I certainly want someone I and others in the community trust with their rigs to do anything significant. I was looking at Off Road just to do the install of skids. I don't have the opti...
