I would not waste the money regearing, adding locker, and shafts (if doing chromos) to a 30 when your already on 38's. Depending on locker you would be into that axle for atleast $1500 and none of the parts work on a 44 or 60 when you bend or grenade it. oh 38's? yeah, get off the D30...didn't know...

I assume by the gear choice its not a the 4:1 transfer case. looking back on my old TJ with 3.07's and 2.73:1 transfer case on D30/D35, I was always wishing for axels and hoping to do what you are proposing. Now will my JLUR and and 80:1 crawl ratio, I feel like the axle strength was not my limiting...
