Re: Tire size / gear recommendations

Listen to Mark, you need adjustable track bars so you can center your axles under the frame. Big benefit, it will handle better on road too.

Re: Tire size / gear recommendations

The makeup of AT's and off road tires is the reason they weigh more. Generally the AT's and off road tires have more plies, 3 ply side walls and thicker treads and more in some cases. Wheeling can and is rough on your tires, sharp rocks and even large sticks can slice a tire. This is one of the reas...

Re: Tire size / gear recommendations

Good points everyone. Take a look at General Tire's X3, a cross between AT's and an off road tread. I run these on my F150 and know a club member who runs them on his jeep and says he is happy with them. I run Mud Claws on my JK and like them but you may not on a daily driver, just say'n.

Re: Planned Upgrades to my 2012 JKU Rubicon

I have a cover on my winch when not wheeling, it protects the line from UV rays, dirt, bugs you name it. Also it is recommended, especially with synthetic, to pull out most of the line every 3 - 6 months to inspect, clean if necessary and respool with proper tension. As far as recovery equipment Chr...

Re: Bumper recommendations

Lots of choices when it comes to bumpers for sure. My advice , take your time deciding which one is right for you. Look at what others have and if possible ask them if they like or dislike it. You don't have to spend a fortune to get a quality bumper and almost anything would be better than the stoc...

Re: battery questions

Northstar or Odyssey or any good AGM is a better choice. As was said the JK uses a lot of juice and add to that a winch requires a good AGM. A while back I asked a Optima rep at a fishing show if the Optima Blue Tops would be a better choice for my bass boat considering they weight half as much as m...

Re: Planned Upgrades to my 2012 JKU Rubicon

Check out Poison Spyder diff covers, {bomb proof}. Their commercial was two guys with a 15lb sludge hammer taking turns beating on one of the PS diff covers for 20 mins. or so. Impressive and is why purchased them for my jeep almost 4yrs ago. Plus they are not as expensive as others.

Re: Making the best of the virus...

Like everyone else I've been cleaning things up, replaced my worn out rear bump stops, installed new rear bumper, soft doors are on, finally going to get around to replacing the brake lines with braided ones and in general just making sure she's ready to go when the time comes. Stay healthy and hope...

Rock rash is just part of wheeling. No point in worrying about it because it is going to happen. :music-rockout:

Re: Planned Upgrades to my 2012 JKU Rubicon

Hey Chris, check out Rugged Ridge XHD Rock Sliders. They are similar to the PS rock sliders. They protect your rocker under and over for a very reasonable price. As far as 16" vs 17" rims it's about clearance for steering and brake components. You need to make sure there is no interference...

What is the circuit breaker rated for, could you instead replace it with an appropriate inline fuse. It's just protection for the compressor.

Re: synthetic winch line question?

You might take a look at Quadratec's Q-series Dyneema synthetic line, 90' rated at 18,000lbs. $199.99 but ask for a discount, sometimes they will mark it down some. If you are a member of Wrangler Forum there is a code for discount to members.

Re: Stock passenger side fender needed

I have my original fenders off my 2012 JK. They have been just taking up space for the last 4 yrs. I know the front fenders on our jeeps should be the same. PM me.
