Re: Rims and tire questions
Don't get load E! Your not driving a 10000 pound truck. Less chance popping bead aired down with slightly narrower rim. Like 8 or 9 inch Less weight too. But that's just my opinion. just say no to E's also tires that size you should change gear ratios, you will need to down shift a lot more. Been r...

Re: New Tire Issues
Ralph Take the wheels off the jeep, load them into another vehicle, take them to Town Faire, NTB or whatever, buy the tires and have them mounted. If they ask what it's going on, tell them none of their business, you just want to buy the tires. Don't mention spacers, if they're not mounting them on ...

Re: U-Joint replacements
My trick for getting stuck unit bearings (hubs) un-stuck... 1. soak the whole thing with PB Blaster or other penetrant (I use a 50 / 50 mix of Acetone and ATF) 2. break the 3 bolts loose and turn them out about 1/4 inch 3. get a crappy socket that fits over the 12 point bolt and whack it a couple of...

Re: iPhone GPS App
I started using Back Country Navigator last week. Seems good so far. Sent from my stupid iThingy using Tapatalk. Hi Mark Just curious - are you using the free version or the paid one. I downloaded the free version for Android, and found it worthless. I couldn't figure out how to start or stop a tra...

Re: Something NEW for Our Jeep 101
There was a teeter totter at the first ever Jeep 101. It was a trailer that was set up on a couple of triangular metal stands - no flat spots. I saw maybe 2 or 3 % of the peeps who tried it succeed.

Re: Hello from East Braintree
Hi Richard, welcome. I've lived in Holbrook for most of my life, and never heard of East Braintree until a couple of years ago... I got off active duty in 1980 - the Army was just getting Hummers then. They worked out pretty well for us in Desert Storm, but they got a bad rep in Iraqi Freedom, when ...

Hey Ralph - if you're planning on changing tire size and/or regearing at some point, you'll need one anyway, so why not pick it up now?

Re: Rear Brake Recommendations
I suppose if the new rear pads are more grippy that stock then it makes sense. You'd want to keep the braking force correctly balanced front to rear. Changing just the rears with more grippy pads could upset the brake force balance possibly causing the rears to lock up prematurely. Don't know this ...

Automotive Air Conditioning work
I have a friend who lives in Acton, needs an AC compressor replacement for his 2012 Honda Accord. Anybody know any shops local to Acton who will do good work at a fair price? PM or answer in the forum, either way.
Thanks,
