Re: Towing with your JKU
I had my trailer with me at Fall Crawl last year. And yes, 3,500lb is the limit for a JKU. There are many trailers out there in many configurations that stay under that 3,500 limit, but your options certainly are more limited due to the low tow-rating of a JKU. One piece of advice: definitely consid...

Re: Safety and thinking ahead
Some great suggestions here! I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to safety and worst-case-scenario planning, but I guess that's not a bad hobby for someone who enjoys long adventures off the grid with vehicles. Here's a snapshot of my set-up, in case it is helpful for others to see: 1. Overhead molle p...

Jeep Wins a New "First Ever" Award!
I'm not sure how valid this "official test" really is. I blame driver error here! https://sjizhg.dm.files.1drv.com/y4mgXus93K1bqh5qWbQ4pGmGLdHBIqpkCuVkdkWceJ-GjK0AJh7cPYSEd-jprOf_yYhIY5xgqY0A6vJLbNMI4jS-CnZdyIY3MhCDz-iY82RkLna39mh-q756R54zSaAngUIJHbf5MpgW57vWh3QfQAb68REV8r-Qd1tWFCyENStEYmV...
Re: Bear Hunt
Well, since we're all stuck at home I figured I'd upload some more photos of Loon Lodge and Ray. Fun for us to dream about all of our adventures past and future to distract us from the mess of the present! As I looked at these photos again for the first time in months, I had two thoughts: 1) Boy, I ...

Re: Let's have a friendly contest!
When I first started working on the design, I did get a lot of comments that "There's no such thing as a middle tooth." Which is true, I guess, since an even number does look more balanced. But apparently FCA believes they own the rights to seven of anything - seven teeth, seven cupcakes, ...

Re: Let's have a friendly contest!
I am sure FCA has its hands full these days but there is a popular Jeep enthusiast YouTuber who recently got his apparel shutdown by FCA because it included a picture/liking of a JK, violating intellectual property [IP] laws. Crazy but true. This is why some fabricators use six or eight slots on th...

I did a black-and-white concept, figuring it would transfer better onto t-shirts and decals: https://q5jara.dm.files.1drv.com/y4mNFHm4_g3_u1Z_ExCSH20qCyvzCLOZRyehYD9mFE0b0VGYPFkRoUnnng7M6j2OofbRBfcmkO9s0eMRN8PXtepGGnKv4FBKEwpvkq9oI8Ax3_LD65bb2RLLBX_mIB-VQYohPWwTz39I6HBQw9eDO26gJdTwp-l--wTesJzBE9U1_r...
Re: Bear Hunt
Frank: even though I am not a hunter, during my Jeep safari through the North Maine Woods, I realized I was in bear hunting heaven. After I completed my objectives each day of things I wanted to explore, I would pull out the map and pick something interesting to investigate. One day, I decided to tr...

Re: Here is an opportunity for some of you!
It's a great training facility - I am hoping they open a similar one in Massachusetts or New Hampshire soon. Their classes are always very detailed, and you can camp right on location (they have a massive fire pit for cooking and bonfires). Plus there are some great sports bars and historic taverns ...
