Re: Electric trailer brakes adjustment question
DIY hack here, sounds too tight. With my minimal experience replacing the assemblies on my trailer, a slight drag allowing the wheel to spin about one revolution was good. No issues towing.

Re: Latest Crazy Project: PowerTank Octopus
Seems a bit crazy overkill? If i were to entertain inflating all tires at once, I'd think about plumbing those in permanently with quick disconnects at each of the 4 corners, and having 3-4' lengths that connect to the valve stem at each location to minimize the amount of setup/teardown for each inf...

Re: To spool or not to spool
For a street driven 2-dr, I'd avoid a spool. I am running an Aussie Locker (auto locker) that is quite manageable, and doesn't have a tire size or horsepower limitation. Selectable would be ideal, but more $$. If you ever plan on street driving in the winter storms, i'd avoid the spool/aussie due to...

Re: Shock size for JK with leveling kit?
For rough dimensions, pull a factory shock, measure the full extension and full compression. Then, add two inches to the extension dimension and you'll get close. You may be able to reach customer service for the lift manufacturer and ask them the recommended lengths. Another cheap option could be t...

Re: Still looking for skid plates
Putting 38’s on that with stock 3.21 gearing, you’ll NEED gearing soon. Add it to your list. Should be done with a locker. You shouldn’t need to ever go bigger then 38’s so any gearing you do will be solid for the foreseeable future.

i don't have a tow rig, not sure i'll have a new engine in the truck at that point. even if i do, not sure it'll be tested enough to risk it. not sure i want to drive the TJ all the way there. i'll take vacation for the wed-fri of whatever weekend it is, just in case. otherwise, you all plan as you ...

Re: Used Car Advise
I've made good and bad decisions when shopping for vehicles. Yes, you do pay more for vehicles when you buy from a dealer, but there is more ability to hold them accountable for the quality of the vehicle. MA has pretty good lemon laws for buying vehicles, so even if you find a vehicle that looks de...

Re: Used Car Advise
The best cheap used cars I’ve gotten have been in the 5-10k range. The simpler the better. I’d head towards a CRV, RAV4 or Rouge with not a ton of frills. If there is t enough cash, try to secure a small loan through a local bank or credit union and buy from a dealer that provides an inspection. If ...

I am having fun! Just knowing that the amazon driver might bring something other than a bath louver. No Mods this week but I did get some recovery straps and a bag for my rear tire. What are peoples thoughts on jacks? I'm leaning toward a bottle jack but I see a lot of the Hi jacks around. Get what...

Re: 4" Lift Kit for my JKU Sport
Sell the gift cards buy a complete kit that all works together. Or talk to a shop see what they can do for you. If you buy a bunch of parts and have a shop install it they are going to charge more just because you didn't buy from them plus guaranteed you will be missing something you don't even thi...
