Re: JKU Teraflex 2.5" lift without shocks and without front springs/stops

Interested. Are you going to be at the spring meeting? and when you say nowhere near 2.5" do you mean its more or less? I'm guessing more... I'll bring it to the spring meeting. I measure both shock length and perch and both measure 1 3/4" above stock. That's the front only. The rear hasn...

JKU Teraflex 2.5" lift without shocks and without front springs/stops

I bought a Teraflex 2.5" spring lift in the fall and installed the front springs and bump stops, then measured. Unfortunately, their advertised 2.5" is nowhere near 2.5" even with no front bumper. So I'm leaving the 1" rear spacer in place from before and selling the rest of the ...

If I'm able to make it, I could pull the carpet up and point to where I'm tapped in for lic plate and 3rd brake light.

Re: Let’s talk skid plates

I think I've seen those protecting washer things on Quadratec for something like $9 each. My last project was to remove the canister and move it over the axle. One piece of angle iron, bolted to the upper pass side spring perch and one bolt through the floor. I used the trick MetalCloak uses to flip...

Re: Let’s talk skid plates

Just relocated my evap canister above the axle. The bracket around it had taken some good hits and I figured I was on borrowed time with it either getting broken or pushed into the rear drive shaft. There are tons of brackets out there, but it really isn't difficult to do the MetalCloak thing to tur...

Re: Let’s talk skid plates

There's lots of ways to go. I've added them piece meal and have Rubicon Express steel skids on the oil pan and tranny. I've seen the MetalCloak full underskid and it's certainly going to do the job. I was concerned with the price, weight and potential loss of clearance. The fuel tank skid will be ne...

Re: Recommendation for side steps/running boards?

If you're offroading in places like the watery go around at Gremlin or other places where you want protection, the Smittybilt tubes aren't a good choice. I had these on my JKU the first half year I was starting off with Baystate. I straightened the mounts after every run with a tow strap to a tree. ...

Re: Getting Ready for my Inspection...

Just got mine inspected yesterday. No problems, done quickly. I do pull the Aruba plate off to avoid issues. Put the stock wheels/tires on too. I know there are cameras in the inspection bays now that the RMV can monitor so I don't want to give the inspector any heartburn.

Ah, just buy a Dynatrac 60/60. Then you don't have to pay for labor. It's like getting lockers for free.

Re: Death wobble

Things I've found when I had death wobble various times. I am not an expert. Be sure the track bar bolts are tight. Mine was loose once coming back from the NEA meeting in Maine. Not fun. Connect the sway bar end links, which it looks like you did in your picture. That helped before I found the loos...
