Re: Optima replacement
I know, but most of those places don't carry the Orbitals, just the regular square ones. Sorry, I'm special.

Re: Optima replacement
Good idea Kurt! Anyone know where to buy one? Having trouble finding the orbital anywhere.

Optima replacement
Does anyone know of a good battery with dual terminals and the rounded sides the size of an optima? The latest yellow top in my rig has died after not even one year... this is getting ridiculous. I was able to get a refund because the warranty is 36 months but this is just stupid. The issue I have i...

Re: Tatton Driveshaft
Agreed, greasable. I had the factory CV joint (which is not greasable) overheat and seize on the highway... which split the TC in two. Now I am religious about greasing driveshafts.

Re: Stupid Engine Issues
Yep, they said if it was a recall they would pay but TSBs are on me. Took about 1.5 hrs to reprogram.

Re: Stupid Engine Issues
So I had to go spend $140 at the stealership to get the PCM reprogrammed but so far it's solved the issue. Of course it was a TSB so nothing I could have done about it. http://www.wkjeeps.com/misc/LX/TSB_300C_Forums/TSB_1801509.pdf I've only driven the heep to work three days since the PCM flash but...

Re: Ram Assist - PSC or Redneck Ram
I went with PSC box/ram assist and it has been great. Mr Blaine makes a kit to add the assist cylinder where the stock steering stabilizer lives on a TJ/LJ (as long as you have the stronger Currie Tie Rod/Drag Link). http://www.shop.blackmagicbrakes.com/TJ-Nearly-Bolt-in-Hydro-Assist-for-Currie-Stee...

Re: Stupid Engine Issues
Update: OPDA was maybe 1/8" off of TDC (which shouldn't matter) but I centered it anyway. OPDA was replaced with a Crown Automotive maybe 20k miles ago, pre engine rebuild. The Crown was recommended as a replacement for the problematic stock unit. I've tried this with both the stock sensor in t...

Stupid Engine Issues
The heep is throwing codes again. It started with PO340 (camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction) then once cleared it later threw PO344 (camshaft position sensor intermittent) The symptom is a lurching/bucking and sometimes stalling, and it can be hard to restart. Happens right when it throws ...

Video from 7/22 on property run
My buddy Keith (BSJ '06-'08, hopefully '18+) rode shotgun this weekend and took a bunch of video. Unfortunately most of it is me spinning my heep's bald tires and not going anywhere, but he got some good shots of Franky, Mark and our triple winch "situation."

Didn't get too many pics... had to focus on getting my pig through the nastiness! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170619/7f93a57bf75e078855b87bc954d55a1c.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170619/9a5994a1a067c35dd91f1de3e48b36fe.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170619/cb8696621ede52f834...

Re: Tires and wheel size
I have had 35" Toyo M/Ts on my rig for almost 7 years of hardcore wheeling. I used to tear sidewalls with other tires constantly but the Toyos just keep going. My heep was my DD the whole time. Can't recommend them enough. FYI 16" steel Allied Beadlocks. Heavy combo but awesome.

Re: Rock sliders
So poly actually does make a difference... but in my opinion only on the Tcase skid where there can be significant weight. I added 1/2" oil-impregnated HDPE and the belly of my LJ slides nicely. However I doubt adding poly would matter on the rock sliders as there will be a small fraction of th...
