In my opinion, the first three items needed for a new stock jeep should be one of the following: chunkier tires, small/moderate lift, skid plates. Reasons for each: Chunkier tires are good for traction. If you don't have traction, you don't go anywhere, regardless of lift and skids. Tires = control....

Re: Hi-steer
That does make sense. It would put all the angles back to stock with a lift. Is there a different tie rod that has a different you can buy off the shelf?

Re: Hi-steer
Well, is it really necessary? The drivers side tre flip gets the whole drag link higher, but flipping the passenger side wouldn't really accomplish that much. On a stock set up, the connection between the tie rod and drag link is above the knuckles already. The drag link then angles down toward the ...

Re: 2015 Wrangler
I recommend General Grabber AT2's. They are what i'm currently running on mine and they do everything other then mud. Mine have been on the jeep for about 25k at this point and they aren't even down to 50% yet. They hold traction on dry/wet/slushy/snowy roads no problem. They also do very well off r...

Re: New Guy Powerman
I've got a TJ and I've replaced the oil pan once already. All it takes is one hit. Next step for me is skids.like Ralph said, protect what you've already got. Ill go one step further and say, just get out and use it. it's not only the jeep that needs upgrading, the driver also needs to know what the...

Re: Deep Water Blue Pearl
I concur on skids. Protect everything. Then lift it. I still have yet to do the protection and is the one thing I worry about most on the trail.

Re: P0431 + Oil Pan/Pressure Guage
I had a 1990 YJ with the same oil pressure symptoms. I stopped using cheap NAPA brand oil and started using Valvoline (straight 30 weight, not multi-vis) and that took care of it. I typically use a penzoil/valvoline or similar, synthetic from pep-boys and a non-fram filter. I've taken delivery of a...

Re: P0431 + Oil Pan/Pressure Guage
That write up definitely makes it look easy to remove and replace the pan. Though, it looked like the motor was out of an older TJ and mine being an 05, i've seen that it takes special care around the rear main seal to make sure the pan seals properly. Any thoughts on that?

P0431 + Oil Pan/Pressure Guage
I've got two separate issues (concerning the jeep anyways). First, the oil pressure gauge. When driving down the street at any speed, the gauge reads correctly. But, when I slow to idle, the gauge drops down to zero and the "CHECK GAUGES" light illuminates. If I give it a little throttle, ...

Re: Misfire and code P-0352
If it ends up being a coilpack, I've got an extra one behind my couch. I stupidly replaced mine thinking it would solve a non-existent problem. OEM from the factory with ~75k miles on it.

Welcome... I've seen that license plate before... I swear. Regardless, welcome back to the Jeep side Dan Its been on 4 different vehicles in 5 years all daily driven in southern nh and across the border up until this past Dec when I got a VW Golf for commuting. The same plate is on the motorcycle. ...

Does "-ISH" ring a bell? No? Perhaps a picture then. (taken on public NH road) 1278049_560235376907_702859260_o.jpg For those who don't know me (most of you), I've been wheeling since 09 with my first wrangler, 2004 X. Started stock and got it to 33's with miscellaneous mods. I had a weak ...
