Who would have thunk ! Not much meat on that tire. Sat. night my lovley bride did the same thing. Would have loved to be on the side of the road to watch her handle it. From the skid marks she did a heck of a job not hitting anything. Shame to say , I flat bed it home. FjR68

Re: Anyone heard of Florida Pneumatic air tools??
My Matco 3/8 air ratchet wil twist your arm to about 55lbs. The .25 in will do about 25 but will crack sockets before it stops. Other than being loud, they are a stable in the tool crib. The 3/8 gun is good for 190lbs. and the 1/2 thundergun is about 650 ! Can you say SNAP! I love em. FjR68

Re: Anyone heard of Florida Pneumatic air tools??
I have a full set of MATCO tools. You get what you pay for. Any I.R. tool will last and out perform cheaper brands. At least make sure it has bearings not bushings. If you dont have a dedicated line for your tools, with a misting oiler inline, you should oil your tool before each use. At least have ...

Re: Re-Gearing
Yes Ive heard of them , but I was under the assumption that was to make up preload (backlash) . Not being wide enough to support the bolt pattern is what I was thinking.(diameter) FjR68

What will they think up next ! Plastic ball joints, gotta get me some. That just blows me away that a critical part like that can deal with normal stuff vs. what we do. FjR68

Meg : Your bummin ! 3.73 carrier wont support 4.88 in the 44. You can in the D-30 use a 3.73 and up for the 88s but the 44 needs a new carrier as the break is 3.92 and up. Ask me how I know ! I did the same thing last year with 56s . Front was fine . Rear cost me as it was on a lift for a extra day....

Re: Is my ball joint shot, or is this normal play??
Thanks for the update ! Both of my joints go into the -C- from the bottom. There is no room for the upper grease fitting once the axle is installed. Its a pain but twice a year I pull em and give em a shot . In the uppers I also have a little threaded sleeve that gets tightened first setting preload...

Re: taking on water
Thanks Joe : I didnt think to check it. Its a metal nipple and it threads in. I think there might be room for another set of seals inside and Im not above trying it . What about the wear pattern on the axle shaft from the seal, you can feel it with a thumb nail but its not excessive ? They are diffe...

Ok ! First , Joe : Do you have a booster ? I dont . Meg : YES there is a kit for an 86 D-44 , I just installed it ! Its well built and easy to install. I mean EASY ! I got calipers complete for $68. The kit has the option for braided lines and the adapter for the E-brake. The company has em for 8.8 ...
