Re: Rubi take off axles or Dynatrac 60's

The JK Rubi axles are plenty strong if you build them correctly. Mine had C gussets, long side truss, Reid knuckles, Poly Performance ball joints RCV's, and 1 ton rod ends. With 4.88's, stock lockers, and 37" competition stickies that setup held up to a ton of abuse. These guys will tell you, I...

Re: How wide is a JK

Axles are 65" WMS -> WMS. Total width will depend on tire width and wheel backspacing. My JK on stock axles, with 4.5" backspacing and 35x12.50's ended up at just a bit less than 80" IIRC. Most standard flat bed trailers have 82" between the fenders.

Re: Just found my Colorado vehicle?

Nevermind. Just like that, heartbreak. Called and spoke to the internet sales guy, its still available. He asks if there's any additional pictures I'd like to see, I give him a short list of suspension mounts, rain sill, inside rear bumper area, he says cool, call ya back in a few. Calls back in abo...

Just found my Colorado vehicle?

I've been on the hunt for a few weeks for a low miles, 99-01 XJ with a 5 speed and 4.0. This guy just popped up today, I think I may have to jump. http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?zip=02169&endYear=2001&modelCode1=CHER&driveGroup=AWD4WD&showcaseOwnerId=752...

Re: Cooling system

I use water wetter in my track bike where we can't use antifreeze. Makes a big difference in operating temp.

Re: Need a shorter pitman arm

Won't be able to do a shorter pitman arm, too much leverage on the steering box. Simplest solution would be to go to a fully hydraulic setup, but that's $$. Can certainly move the box forward and fabricate a longer steering linkage.

Synergy Suspension

There are a number of reasons Frankie. Without flat top knuckles and a proper double shear setup it's a bad idea to setup the drag link and tie rod end through the same bolt, on the same side of the knuckle; too much stress even for a 7/8" grade 8 bolt. They also don't want to move the drag lin...

Re: "New" Wrangler in the stable

You can adapt the stock tcase shifter to work with the 241. I did it with my YJ. It just shifts backwards. Forward is 4LO, back is 2 HI. Works out better as the tcase shifter is forward and out of the way in 4LO. :) That's why you're The Kurt. Thanks, I'll look into that. I figured worst case scena...

Re: "New" Wrangler in the stable

Yessir coming along nicely, much of that due to Dennis being such a huge help. He's put in 3 full days with me thus far and I think he's as excited about the project as I am! It's very close to completion but I'm sure there's going to be plenty of nickel and dime stuff that will eat up time and dela...

"New" Wrangler in the stable

Another work day with Dennis today. Finished prepping the 4.0, got the Banks header installed along with a cleaned up intake manifold, spray bomb on the block, lots of loose ends. She's all set back in the heep now: http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/28/dapuqe6e.jpg The "hard" part is over, n...

Re: "New" Wrangler in the stable

Nah, just on hold for a bit Chris. The YJ is almost "done" for any more upgrades. It'll stay on 33's and now that it has a dependable drive train will be good to roll for quite some time. It will likely need a tub transplant in a couple of years but that's another story. Got a jeep I can b...

Dennis is a rock star, he's been great help on this project. We're going to put in a work day on Friday, should have the new drive train set by then. I was able to find myself a 241, even after paying shipping from Texas it was still cheaper (not by much!) than the price of a TeraLow and a an SYE. W...
