Re: Lower Low Range
Started with 33's and 4.56-gears and moved up to 35's because I was scraping too much. Should have started with 35's and 4.88-gears as I was advised. Didn't listen.

Re: Lower Low Range
I have always wanted an Atlas ever since I first saw one. Nothing else like it as everything else is a compromise. I will probably get one in the fall as it will take me that long to save enough. Could do a doubler until then or just suck it up and drive what I have as it all works. Atlas II = somed...

Re: Lower Low Range
Current set up is 4.56-gears, 35-inch tires, and mostly stock NP231. the Tera Low kit is 4.0 and comes with the over rev warning so that is a concern.

Lower Low Range
The weak point in my 93 YJ right now is the 2.72 stock low range in my NP231 T-case. I am looking to get down to a 4.0 low range so I don't have to use as much wheel spin to get up obstacles as I do now. Don't get me wrong: wheel spin can be fun and I am not against using the gas where needed (and w...

What kind of compressor are you using? Is it an A/C converted to air or a designed air compressor? On the A/C mount?

Re: lockers & re-gearing
Lesson Learned: I was advised to go with 4.88 gears and 35's and I went with 4.56 gears and 33's. Now running 35's. With my stock 2.72 T-case my overall gear ratio is not low enough for my taste. Now I am looking at swapping out my T-case or modifying it to get to a 4:1 low range. Would have been ch...

Re: lockers & re-gearing
Amanda, I am running 35's, 4.56 gears and ARB's front and rear. Burned out the compressor in October and replaced it with the new bigger / better ARB compressor. Dana 30 front with alloy shafts, and a Ford 8.8 rear. All works really well, but it was expensive. Using my Jeep to get me to the trail wh...

Re: PSA new trend in auto theft Jeep Doors
It would be funny if they stole my doors as they are both so bent they only fit my body. Then I could get aftermarket half doors and bend them to fit my tub...

Re: Using the jeep as a gardening tool
I took out some small trees cutting them off at waist height, hooked up my 30-foot strap and yanked the stumps with the Jeep. Worked great. It is a utility vehicle after all.

Re: Dig Daddy Tie Rod?
I have the Rugged Ridge heavy duty tie rods after bending my factory set on my 93 YJ. I don't think big Daddy had a YJ model but any brand heavy duty tie rod set is better then the factory junk. I say get em!

My dad and I drove from San Diego to Norfolk, VA in a 1960 Austin Healey (in 1966). So, yes, I was in short pants and not tall enough to drive.

Re: Speedometer gear question....
I have 4.56 and 33's soon to be 35's and never corrected the speedo. I use my GPS when on the highway and otherwise don' care. Is that bad?

Re: Knock in the Steering
My tire issues include: 33's are too small especially for the places I manage to stick my Jeep, and I have so far ruined two of them. Replacements are expensive.
