Re: Tatton Driveshaft

Ordered two shafts (front and rear) for my XJ from Tatton. Good guy to deal with and a great price on eBay (only $200 shipped each, prices have gone up since). They are great so far.

Re: Trailering MPG

'07 Tahoe gets about 12mpg towing a race car (2400-2700 lbs) to Florida and back.

It's not "local" to Peabody but Lou and his guys do great work.
I've had a couple of axles re-geared there. :)
Thanks for the tip guys.

I've made contact with them, I'll talk to them on the phone this week. Ballpark, how much money to regear?

Re: Diff Covers or Diff Skids

Love it. Many guys would make fun, saying it is a waste of time painting them so nice. Yes, they will get dirty and scraped to heck, but they look great now.

Re: Still around...need help finding metal tube

John that's awesome, exactly what I was envisioning. Any photos of how it attaches under the door sill? I may have a little less rocker left than you did. I am also worried about it rotting out again. How did you paint the pieces inside the sill?

Thanks

Still around...need help finding metal tube

So the XJ hasn't hit a trail in a year and a half(ugh it sounds worst seeing it in print!). I do have a 4 month old baby girl now though! :) :music-rockout: The rockers finally left. They were rusty and I laid they both down on some nasty rocks last run and that finished them off. I cut them out to ...

Welcome Jim and Welcome back Kermit!

BTW I'm pretty sure I named my green XJ Kermit before you! hahaha

I went to school at Merrimack College in N Andover and live in Peabody, let me know if you need any help.

By store you mean the auto parts store, and by cookout you mean when we all have to stop because a Wrangler breaks...

Re: New sneakers...

I'd love to find a good deal on 31 or 32 inch MT tires so my XJ can have new sneakers! The BFG ATs are an amazing all around tire, but I don't need an all around tire anymore.

So yeah, let me know if anybody finds a good deal! :)
