Re: Anyone used Kolak Performance?

I dont know what 2" alone would be....

But when I first went to a 4.5" lift from stock on the WJ, it was about 2 3/4" out of center.

When I then went to 6.5" lift from the 4.5", it was about another 2 3/8".

Re: Anyone used Kolak Performance?

Yeah, at 2" it's probably not that far out of center. I'm the type that always wants things dialed-in true and centered. That way I can't fault it while chasing other issues. An adjustable track bar is fairly short money, and allows you to go up in lift in the future [which you will...trust me ...

Re: Anyone used Kolak Performance?

Great. The track bar typically is the number one go-to for a wobble issue. Even if it isn't full on death wobble, it will help. Several good aftermarket ones. Did you do anything to recenter the axel, or is it off a bit because of the 2" lift? I never really had an issue with any sort of wobble...

Re: Anyone used Kolak Performance?

I've used him for some WJ parts. Nic is Kolak. Not sure where he gets Kolak from, but people reference him one in the same. All he is doing is taking your order, and then having manufacturers ship direct to you. He has no overhead that way and can make a few bucks himself, while saving you a few. Th...

Re: Wheel w/ lift

Sometimes you can't just 'ignore' or 'skip' the offset reference. Some wheel manufacturers only describe their wheels in offset, and not backspacing.

Knowing the difference and how they correlate would be wise to learn for any off-roader.

Re: New to Jeeps. Inspection Question

You mean the state called the inspector right then and there, after observing your vehicle being inspected through the cameras or something? Or someone from the state just happened to be there while you were there??: Did it look like your profile pic when you took it in to be inspected? Ugh....I'm s...

Re: Cameras go live for MA Inspection, October 2017

Hmm, before we know it, we'll have stock inspection springs? :) I have already been doing this for 2 years. The springs are the easy part. Resetting the track bar, steering, and upper control arms (long arms) is the tedious part. Then doing it all again right after. At least it forces you to go thr...

Re: Go Topless Day 2017

Hey Poppy, I'm a new member as well, and at this point my crew & I are planning to attend this. My understanding is that they have two trail ride options (Easy/Hard) in addition to the main pavilion area of vendors and food and such. It will be our first time attending as well. Probably wont pla...

Re: Olympic Mountaineer Rack

OMG, I wasn't even going to read your review before I instantly posted about this company....but I did in fact read it first. SPOT ON! This company shipped me all the frame pieces last year for a rack, and not one single piece of hardware. NOTHING. Not even the tube spacers that elevate the platform...

Re: Weird steering behavior with shimmy

Trying to move things by hand will not always show the failure. Especially a track bar.

Best to have someone turn steering back and forth while you are under it looking at the various components.

Re: Front Recovery Points

Your standard hooks that come with the Jeep should be adequate. Thanks, we'll see how it goes for the time being. It's pretty high on the priority list to get some good mounts. I'm just trying to work out a few tweaks with HK Offload that I want done on hidden winch mount. You will grow to hate the...

Front Recovery Points

I'm planning on putting a HK OffRoad Hidden Winch Mount on my WJ later this year (Summer/Fall). It will have shackle tabs built in for recovery points. In the meantime, all I have are the standard tow-hooks on the front that came with the jeep, which are truly hooks and open on one end. Will that be...

Re: New Member (wait list!)

Those Jerry Cans are really cool.

Am I correct that you took the regular cap and drilled a hole for the spout to fit through, and that the spout is threaded to receive a nut on the backside?

Could you share where you bought that particular spout?
